Great location in an enjoyable city
Room a bit small
Location is good
I felt the staff were not that friendly and there simply wasnt enough of them especially at breakfast. I knew it was a shared bathroom but had no idea it was on another floor which is not ideal
The single room was comfortably appointed and contained everything anyone would require for an overnight stay. A nice touch was the provision of a Cafetiere with a container of ground coffee in addition to the usual refreshment tray. An excellent breakfast.
The hot water took a very long time to reach the hot taps and shower owing to the height and age of the building. Very weak shower.
The breakfast isnt worth wakein up for and me and my mate were workin away down there and were ment to work 3 days and found out we were only workin 2 and the wouldnt refund us even tho we payed cash. We found rat dropings in the dinning area and dirty tampax in the wardrobe
Miserable owner. Dated 80's decor, argos budget bedroom furniture. No duvet, but sheets and blankets probably from a charity shop, a shower with a mind of its own. We were able to hear the entire conversation of the people in the next room. The most stingy tea and coffee facilities ever.
Breakfast was lush. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on bagels was within the price which was fab. Spotlessly clean.
Could have had some biscuits in the room and maybe a couple more tea/coffee sachets but other than that nothing to complain about.
Great location & friendly staff
Room was a bit warm
Near the train station and the centre. The breakfast: you can choose continental, or English, or vegetarian breakfast... Maybe more, but I was concentrated on one of the mentioned. Very close to the Phoenix theatre, too.
No elevator, but the staff helped me with the baggage, bringing it to my room.
Lovely young woman at breakfast was very friendly and hospitable and gave an excellent service. On tap fresh coffee was a nice surprise and good.
I booked a room with a bath for my guest who likes a bath. But he was given a room with a shower and no explanation - not happy when I found out after he'd settled in. Old fashioned sheets and blankets on the beds - get duvets they're warm and hygienic! The bacon at breakfast was pre-cooked so was tough and not nice. The Bendene advertises as 4 star I'd say it was only 3 star.
I am 84 years of age. My room was on the third floor. I could probably have got more blankets but on my bed were 2 thin blankets in the middle of winter. If I had better health I could have walked down three flights of stairs and asked for more blankets.
Staff friendly and helpful if not very professional.
Breakfast between 08:00-09:00 on a Saturday & Sunday is ridiculous. Check out time of 10.00 is also not conducive to a relaxing weekend. No sitting room or relaxing facilities. Overall very expensive for just a double room.
Got in after 200 miles of cycling, the reception lady was very helpful letting us store of muddy bikes out in the garage. The room was comfy, our much needed showers hot and strong. The breakfast was perfect fuel for the next days riding.
Lovely hotel, good location and very helpful owner. Will come again
Good breakfast, quiet room, lovely view. Clean. Very convenient for station.
Shower poor and got airlock on first day. Three long flights of stairs for single attic room. Ask for hairdryer before you go up! Weak WiFi.
Location was great as we needed to use the nearby train station and we could easily walk to the town centre.
Appreciated contact with the owners on arrival but after that we were left to deal with the waitress (who was very nice) but thought the owner's presence was what a B & B is all about. Despite assurances when we booked that there was adequate free car parking when we arrived there was only approx. 3 free car parks at the back of the premises. It would have been nice to have fresh orange juice for breakfast instead of watered down juice.
Nice and personal. Clean and tidy. And a lovely breakfast. Good location a few minutes from Exeter Central Station.
Remote control on Tv hard to operate!
Very good B&B. First impression if some staff was they appeared abrupt however every request was met with a positive response. Only minor issue was parking- a bit more detailed info on where to park prior to arriving would be useful.
Great location, central but quiet. Lovely room. Good breakfast.
I returned for a second time and plan to return for Christmas holidays.SADLY on my first visit i left my key in my door, and returning at midnight thete was no nigjt petson to let me in, after i phoned, knocked and rang bell. So i slept on your front step, lady at hotel can confirm. I got in around 6.30am, being breakfast helper arrived.
Swimming pool Location
To walk through dining area to get to pool area
The hotel was spotless and the food good and the service good as I have stated.
The only disadvantage was having to go downstairs to the bathroom, (which had 1 toilet in a separate room and another toilet in the bathroom),or upstairs to a toilet which did not have a wash bowl in it, but it was compensated with one in our bedroom. Since it was stated that we would have to share a bathroom, and we understood this, it would have been great to have had one on our floor.
Breakfast is only available from 8am to 9am
Efficiency and friendliness of waiting staff. Breakfast cooked well.
Very old-fashioned furnishings.
Very friendly staff and very well presented room
