Really friendly and helpful staff
Decor, Clean bathroom and bed, good location, polite staff and very helpful.
The thick furry curtains! I wondered how and when they were last washed.
the hole stay
not much i have just booked again for febuary.
helpfulness of staff
lack of modernisation
THE STAFF, THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY, ALWAYS HELPFUL AND QUITE BRILLIANT.
WEIRD DECOR THROUGHOUT WITH REALLY STRANGE FURRY CURTAINS,MAIN LIFT OUT OF ACTION FOR THE WEEK WE STAYED THERE WHICH MEANT WE HAD TO USE THE SERVICE LIFT WITH HEAVY AND VERY SQUEAKY DOORS, AWFUL!
Comfortable, good value hotel on the seafront.
Good curtains, comfortable bed
Having to pay for Wifi and Parking.
Single room number 19 is located in the basement just behind the stairs and the kitchen. The room is not only very loud especially around 3-5am it is also very small. A friend of mine got the single room on the 1st floor which seemed to be more spacious. I can not recommend the single room no 18 at the Big Sleep in Eastbourne . It serves the purpose but it´s certainly not a room for a good night sleep or as one might call it "big sleep".
Breakfast from 6.30 to 9.30?On a weekend? Check out at 10.30 - you will have to pay extra if you want to extend it. No tooth paste - extra pay. Not even close to 4 stars - 2-3 max. wouldn't recommend it at all.
The room was really clean. The fluffy curtains made the room memorable and inviting. It did remind me of the Muppets/ Sesame Street though! A lovely location: really close to Eastbourne's promenade. Lovely breakfast. Great value for money.
It was a busy night in Eastbourne and there was no parking. Be prepared to park in a side street and walk. The shower was set a little short for myself (5'4") and even more so for my 6' partner.
for a one night stay with a group of walkers it was met our needs.
Clean Helpful Staff Good price Good location Unfussy Good breakfast
Mattress was old and lumpy. Shower had clearly been flooding all over the floor for some time as evidenced by the amount of mould and discoloration on the bathroom floor.
Unbeatable location Only £1 for 24 hours on-street parking outside the door, via hotel voucher Large room and bathroom Good hanging and storage space Plenty of choice for breakfast, included in room rate Friendly & efficient staff Nice lounge areas
Black mould behind bathroom sink and in shower (room 208) The fake fur curtains didn't look clean All the hotel TVs were incorrectly set, cutting off the picture/ football score/ team names No free wi-fi is a bit mean these days Having to put up with the above just because the rates are cheap
The room is very calm while it is very small. But it is OK for one night. There are many restaurants and bars and shops aroud the hotel so very convenent. Free breakfast is enough vokume and good. It is cheap so OK if I had no problem about car parking.
Car parking is on the road and no reserved for the hotel. I spent one hour to find parking space on the road and finally parked away from the hotel, 20 miniutes walk to the hotel while it was Saturday and Fire Work day at the beach, very crouded.
Furry curtains and side of bed Lift
If you get a good deal, I think it's pretty good hotel.
the chap who checked us in was excellent.the lady who checked us out barely lifted her head away from the computer to acknowledge us,did not not ask if everything was ok or said goodbye.shame as overall we had a good stay
no car park, but we knew this when we booked,we were informed about the £1 parking and given a ticket to put in the car, which was good
Nice greeting at reception, big room and niice view of Downs. Clean, comfortable.
One lift being worked on, other lift a bit old and people didn't always shut the doors so a looong walk up to 3rd floor.
Clean comfy beds Basic but quirky and good value Great seafront location and parking nearby
Location. Special parking £1 a day.
Mix up of the room at the beginning. Given a twin instead of a double.
I really liked the size of the room and the continental breakfast was lovely
Unsolicited upgrade to a large room with great view of the seafront. Very comfortable. Adequate continental breakfast.
Location & staff excellent
Cannot bring own food to eat in communal areas even though it stated this on booking.com site when we booked. Workmen trying to fix lift close to our room so had to squeeze past loft ladder each time came in or out or wait for workmen to move it & on 2nd night woken up at 5am by constant noise from an issue with water pump that went on till 7am!! However to be fair on checking out staff refunded 50% of 2nd night so helped to soften the annoyance!!
Beautiful building on the seafront. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Hot shower. Warm room. Ironing station. Value for money. Breakfast included. Big Sleep!
Lift out of order. Limited tea/coffee etc in my room.
