Unfortunately having to serve the wine and clear up plates between courses was not our idea of a high class meal.
The food was excellent. The rooms were quiet. Staff were friendly.
The overall atmosphere, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff as well as the very nice and welcoming owner.
very nice room.nice evening meal andgood breakfast.
Found the staff to be quite unfriendly and not having a fridge in the room was very inconvenient. We stayed in a royal suite which we thought was overpriced and not really a suite as such.
The room was lovely and clean, very comfortable and breakfast was really good with great choice. Great idea to have a caftiere for coffee in the room and a tea pot, lovely touch.
A really great stay, lovely friendly staff and very good food. Would definitely stay there again!
VERY CONVENIENT FOR OUR PURPOSES
Very pleasant and accommodating staff, good evening meal and easy parking
Window in room not particularly acoustically sealed, so lots of road noise. Pillow on bed might as well have been a handkerchief for all the support it provided (your taste may vary of course)
Friendly, engaging staff. Nice atmosphere. Good food, real ales. Workable WiFi. Price. No parking issues. Clean room.
see review.. not worth the money! room very small considering it was a luxury room!
As someone with coeliac disease it was fantatstic to stay somewhere that went out of there way to cater for me. Gluten free sausages, bread, cakes & even beer all readily available and staff that were able to discuss the menu and assist me. Eating out and staying anywhere is a nightmare for me, the Bird in Hand proved that it should'nt be.
Absolutely terrible it was loud the bed was not a king size as described, bed was uncomfortable, food at dinner and breakfast was terrible, bar area was filthy at breakfast, building materials had just been lleft in a pile outside, very noisy, glass door with see through curtains into bathroom (I appreciate it looked nice but I think we all like a bit of privacy In the bathroom) exterior looks very run down
Room was beautiful
Stayed here twice. Excellent service
comfort and breakfast
Big car park easy access
Basic and functional room with no flair
The staff were great.
Toiletries were not replaced on a daily basis. Only had soap, shampoo etc on arrival day. On day four, had to request supplies which is not acceptable in a four star hotel.
Well located bedroom, good full English breakfast available each morning, lovely traditional bar with log fire, friendly and polite staff, welcoming to come back to for a nightcap at the end of our days
Disappointing compared to the pictures and the reviews. Simple modern room as opposed to the timbered rooms on the website. Room musty and requiring an air freshener. Food uninspiring. I do not understand why it has the review score on the website.
Slept well in a comfortable bed. Room clean (but musty). Wifi worked well.
Not able to open the window in the bedroom
Comfortable bed and good breakfast
We liked the history, ambience and professional attention from all management and staff.
The only part of the breakfast that was even vaguely warm was the baked beans. Everything else was at room temperature - sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, mushroom, hash brown. It obviously was cooked once upon a time, but not within half an hour of us arriving at breakfast
Friendly staff, good rooms, good food in the evening
I enjoy cider, and would like to see more choice either bottled or on draught but that is a niggle.
Very friendly and welcoming pub/hotel. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We stayed in the Windsor Suite which had an individual character, and was well specified with nice touches. We ate in the bar in the evening and had breakfast the following day. Both meals were very enjoyable and we have returned to eat since.
Nothing all very goog
Very friendly staff easy access to local towns easy location to find
