The Birley Arms Hotel  

The location was ideal for the break that we were on. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent and locally sourced. A very good break from the normal everyday life.

During our short stay I cannot readily identify any area that I did not like.

the room was really good loads of space and very clean.

the breakfast you had cheap sausages you could only have one sort of egg. also in the room in the bathroom the shower was only powerful on cold water and when u turned it to hot it more or less dripped out.

Tucked away but easy travel to main resort. Clean with a looked after appearance. Friendly staff. Good food. Free parking, comfortable room with good clean ensuite

location was good: we were attending the Fylde Folk Festival for the weekend but did not want to stay on the coast.

We had booked this hotel based on previous customer comments that it was very clean and smart. sadly, we found this not to be the case, and wondered if we just had a bad experience or if standards were slipping. Our room needed some maintenace, the toilet seat was very flimsy and loose, the pillows were poor (and we had taken our own following previous customer comments) and on the last 2 nights of our four night say our room was not cleaned (shower still had empty toiletry sachets left in it, sink not cleaned) and stocks of items not replenished (bathroom toiletries, biscuits, toilet paper etc).

The rooms were not up to the standard we were expecting and on both evenings there were lots of flies in the bar despite the cool rainy weather

The birley arms was a nice hotel to stay in,the staff were very freindly.. the rooms were nice,and the food was nice too..

There was nothing at all to dislike about the hotel..

Location, out of town, but close to main routes. Large car park for easy parking. Very friendly Staff, always helpful and polite. Good breakfast and included in the price. We upgraded to the larger room and it was fantastic and well worth the extra. Coffee machine in room was a nice bonus. The room was recently renovated and it made our stay with larger TV and the bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom was large with 2 sinks (oddly different shades?) As we live in Dubai and came for our sons wedding, we are harder to please due to the luxury we have at home. We felt for the extra cost compared to most Preston Hotels, Birley Arms comes Recommended......

Room cleaning was hit and miss and bathroom was often completely missed, had to keep asking for toiletry's (shampoo and conditioner) after every daily use, as well as coffee or milk if we used it. Food in the Restarant was very pricey compared to local pubs etc and avoid weekly pub quiz night as very noisy and full if you are not into Quiz nights. Stairs difficult for getting luggage to and from your room. Water pressure for shower very low and gave up using and had lovely baths. Toilet flushing a little hit and miss!! We stayed 9 nights and if the room had been prepared like the 1st night each day, I would have had no complaints and this is all we expected when we returned each day and sadly it was not. Could do with a couple of signs for the hotel near its location.

Clean and comfortable,and convenient for the wedding we attended in Lytham.

The charge for early checking £20 per person to allow us to change into our wedding outfits.We actually got changed in the toilets.

Easy to find quiet location. Staff extremely friendly and efficient. Breakfast top rate. Definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay the staff were really polite and friendly. I would have a return visit and recommend to others. Every future sucess to you all.

I would have liked a small fridge to have been available in the room. I did not realise there were not any hairdryers except for collection at reception until i'd had my shower. I read it later in the guest book. Most places these days have these "extras" as standard in rooms even Travelodge. There were only two pillows on a double bed and no extras in the wardrobe.

Good breakfast,- choices on dinner specials menu looked delicious, sadly going to nearby wedding evening 'do' so didn't get to try!

Hotel guests have to book in at the bar, it would help with first impressions not to have been totally ignored by both bar staff whilst awaiting someone to check us in. A simple' hello', or 'someone will be with you shortly' would have helped. Try not to have room 15, its above some sort of generator that rumbles continuously.

Couldn't fault the hotel for cleanliness, politeness of the staff and comfort. The food was good and a great location.

Fasle Fire alarm went off in our room 3 times in the night which was extremely loud ruined our nights sleep. There have been other reviews over the last month suggesting this too.

Friendly and helpful staff, good food and clean comfortable rooms. The bed was especially comfortable, slept very well! Excellent location for Lytham St Annes, and the Open Championship Golf.

The reception and check in process, using the bar staff to check in was not particularly efficient or quick.

Stayed there for 2 nights during The Open golf at Lytham. The staff were very welcoming and made our visit very pleasant. Even offered to run us into Blackpool in the morning to collect our car if we fancied a drink there on a night out. Good contemporary style bar/restaurant and excellant breakfast too. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Good shower.
