I liked the friendly atmosphere and the place was an excellent venue for meeting up with my family who were staying elsewhere locally. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The heavy fire doors on the stairs and the corridor to my room were difficult to handle on my own.

Friendly Staff, Beautiful family room, Inhouse brewery! Breakfast wasn't great and £170 for one night was a bit steep.

The hotel has its own brewery and creates some wonderful beers, just perfect to relax in front of the fire after a long day hiking

The family room was spacious, very clean and modern and very comfortable. The food was really good and the Coniston selection of real ales from the adjacent brewery an added plus. We would stay there again.

Food and beer was very good. The pub was very busy and there was a good atmosphere in the bar. Although the management were aware we were a family of four with two children (9 and 13) they gave a family room directly above the bar area and this was very noisy. When I complained about this the next day their response was that it was quiet when the bar closed - 11.30. It is likely that there was no other family accommodation available, but I think that we should have been told of the location of the room so that we had the option to book elsewhere.

The staff were welcoming and very friendly. The inn was quirky and popular which gave a great atmosphere. The bar had a fabulous choice of beer with knowledgeable staff who knew about the beers that had been brewed on the premises. They were dog friendly which proved popular and this also added to the easy atmosphere. All in all a good place to stay !without the need to dress up for dinner :-)

Location and nice pub, and the morning staff were lovely. Staying in the adjacent cottages' next to the Inn lost the appeal of staying in a Inn. The room and bed felt v tired and the plastic sky light was like having a rain bongo above your head when trying to sleep.

Staff were very helpful, room was clean and food portions were ample, tasty and on time. In-house-brewery was a bonus and would highly recommend the Bluebird Bitter.

Great beer! Great location. Friendly, and a terrific location for walkers, hikers, and all kinds of outdoors people. The food is basic, and the room was small, cramped, and very over priced. A poor bathroom and uncomfortable bed.
