Quality Of Room Comfortable bed modern décor Excellent food evening and breakfast Friendliness of staff
wine was very expensive a bit remote
The room was lovely. The food was very good especially the Yorkshire puddings (huge!) The staff were very friendly.
Nothing spoilt our stay.
The atmosphere of the inn itself. The bar and food were both top notch and the staff were very helpful and obliging throughout our stay. The village was also very nice an well located for visiting the surrounding towns and areas of interest.
The food, the staff, the room, the lovely village and surrounding area, just everything?
We loved everything and will return.
The staff were brilliant - helpful, friendly and good fun. The food was stunning and reasonably priced. This was the only place able to meet our requirements at short notice in the area - so glad we chose it. Definitely go again.
Stayed for one night unfortunately. A really comfortable stay and the evening meal was superb. Already looking to go back for a weekend
From start to finish this place was wonderful, the staff the food was excellent and the room was very pretty.would definetly go back.
Absolutely superb in every single aspect. Seeing is believing.

Loud music from downstairs bar.
A lot of 'frills' at the expense of practicality. No razor/toothbrush recharging point; poor light in bathroom & impractical towel rail. Pleasant service in restaurant but food variable in quality/presentation. Breakfast service mediocre & only from 9-10 a.m. No fruit except a few strawberries in a small bowl. Not particularly well cooked hot food. Pot of coffee was pale orange, i.e. almost no coffee in cafetiere, so had to send it back. Weak internet only available in bar. When we wanted to check out the receptionist was gossiping & joking on phone for more than 5 mins. tho' she had seen we were waiting. Said it was her boss on the phone! Generally not impressed. Our B&B the previous 2 nights was a great deal better all round, including value for money.

We stayed the Blackhorse Inn for one night, it was great - food, accommodation and staff. Would recommend it to a friend.
The food and service were very good.Very nice helpful staff. Really good breakfast and evening meal. The Pub itself was done out really well.
The room was very tired, rotten window frames , chipped paint and stained headboards. It really didn't feel that clean. Also, I didn't like the two mannikins sat outside, they looked very macabre.
Loved the friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help us with a 2 year old in tow. The room was gorgeous, my son had his own bedroom but as it was just off our room he was secure and couldn't escape. Food was lovely, if anything too much for us to manage. Fantastic little touches that made it a special night away.
Nothing at all to dislike.
The Shergar Suite
We had a beautiful room - large, very comfortable bed, French doors to the garden and a luxury bathroom. Nothing we could fault there. The pub itself has been modernised, but is still full of character. Congratulations to the designers. Would I recommend to other travellers? Only for the accommodation.
We booked a table for dinner for 8 and arrived a few minutes early. However there was no table available and we were told we could eat in the function room (alone) or wait for about 20 minutes. Not good planning! Having studied the menu in the bedroom we had already made our choices, only to be told it was a different menu. Not a problem, until we looked at the one produced and discovered that, apart from the fish and chips and steak pie, everything was quite expensive - £21 for my lamb, very nice, but nuevo cuisine and nothing to actually rave about. Sides were extra. Breakfast nothing special - the waitress was new so had to consult the kitchen (not her fault) as to whether the kippers were on the bone or fillets. "On the bone but minus the head and bones" we were told. Not so - they were minus the heads but not bones, making it difficult for those used to fillets and just as difficult to de-bone for those used to complete kippers. Full English was average, but had to prompt them for the beans. All in all not impressed with our dining experience.
Friendly welcome excellent staff. Great value for money. Would of happily paid double.
Lovely village location. Rooms were lovely. Restaurant and bar areas were superb with an excellent menu. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist. Would recommend without question.
Friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable and imaginatively decorated rooms. Great food. NFT.
Stopped off for one night on our way to Scotland from the midlands. Couldn't ask for a nicer place. Very comfy bed, excellent food - took advantage of the Tuesday night steak special deal. Loved all the decor & extra little touches made it feel very special. Would definitely visit again.
Have stayed here before love the rooms one is as nice as the other and staff are always very helpful
room,breakfast was brill
could have had more variety on evening meals
The bedroom was lovely, the bed linen was of a high quality and the home made cookies were a really nice touch. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a meal in the bar and the food was amazing!
Had a shower in the evening and the water was not warm enough. Turned the temperature up to the highest setting but was still luke warm.
Loved the whole experience. The staff were friendly & attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent , delicious & well presented. The room was out of this world - not what you would expect to find in a village pub & the location was in a lovely village but not far from other places. Truly - it exceed every expectation.
The fact that we had only booked 1 night & had to leave the following day.
Great pub and restaurant and nice room with updated modern bathroom and very large shower. Really nice continental breakfast basket if you don't want to wait for the dining room to open in the morning. We would highly recommend this inn if you don't mind being a few miles off the beaten path.
If you want an early start, settle your account the night before departure. Staff doesn't arrive until 7:30 am. Short stretch of narrow roads to access the property.
