- very nice and helpfull service - very clean at all - lovely food and breakfast
The owners have gone all out to make a fantastic, comfortable room. I was only staying for one night for a business meeting the next day but I'll be visiting again I'm sure.
I want to live there!
Staff superb and should be sent to train other companies on how to treat their customers. Room was excellent and not the usual boring hotel room. Evening meal was superb and of course the early morning breakfast.
Prices of drinks at bar more than double compared with North of England.
Very relaxed atmosphere
Wines too pricey.
couldn't fault it in any way
It is a incredible place. We were in awe how everything was top notch. The room beautiful, Pub area decorated in period and in a sophisticated style. All of the people working there were very welcoming and helpful. Oh yeah, the evening meal and breakfast, delicious! Would love to go back.
Relaxed comfort and friendly staff.
TrAffic near Gerard's cross
Facilities within the room were excellent and the bathroom huge, though not sure about the bath being filled from the ceiling tap?? The service was very good especially the preparation of the breakfast basket for the morning. I did not make a note of her name but the lady (Jane I think) who looked after me when I arrived could not have been more helpful. My meal in the bar area was excellent
Surprised that the breakfast times started at 08.30 Mon-Fri. Not helpful when on a business trip. The breakfast option, whilst appreciated, grated a little considering the cost of the room which included a full breakfast? Lack of suitably place hooks in the bathroom, especially near the shower, mentioned on check-out
Lovely room and fantastic bathroom with large bath and shower. Friendly staff, tasty breakfast and enjoyed a meal in the restaurant in the evening. Would be happy to use again for business or pleasure.
Large wardrobe but no chest of drawers in the bedroom. Also although it wasn't a problem for me as I was close to where I needed to be for work in the morning and my meeting didn't start until 10am, breakfast isn't served until 8.30am which could be a challenge if you have to start your working day earlier. Lastly you are over a pub so although last orders are called for 11pm it may be noisy if you wanted an early night.
We loved the room. Nicely furnished, spacious bathroom with good toiletries. Comfortable large bed.
My wife's meal was not very good, and when we gave this feedback, nothing was done by the waitress other than "I will let them know"
Room and style Plate and bathtub in the bathroom Excellent meal
The location was perfect, rooms are lovely and comfortable and feels like home. Food & service is excellent, in fact I cannot fault this B&B at all, love it.
Wow factor bathroom, fabulous breakfast, and exceptional service from Jane , front of house representative throughout our stay, made us so welcome, and ensured we had everything we needed to guarantee a great mini break.
Arrived Sunday evening after long drive, to be advised last orders for dinner was 18.30pm, with no alternative dining venue in village. Would have been nice if a later menu available for residents.
Tracy Coventry, could not fault anything and the room and food were excellent
Sumptuous pillows, very tasty breakfast, lots of space
Bather filler in the ceiling drips boiling hot water on you while relaxing!
Food was great. Lovely Pub. Room was amazing. Staff great. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return. Manager Leanne was wonderful during out stay.
Absolutely Nothing. If staying at the caviar room, watch your head on the beam entering room.
Totally perfect in every way! :)
The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as our bags entered the building. The evening meal was superb, flavour and substance with a very tempting menu made dinner a delight. We were not rushed even though the restaurant was full, and had a wonderful leisurely meal. The room was very pretty and tastefully done - fresh milk for the tea and coffee, great attention to detail. It was a overnight stop for us on our way south, we will return again, and hopefully stay longer. Thank you to Jane who made us feel especially welcome!
There is nothing to dislike!!!!!
My initially impressions were very good, the pub alone is delightful, serving up fabulous food with a little bit of something for all tastes. Our room was spectacularly designed bringing times past to life in the present day with such beautiful charm and trust me your comfort is most definitely not compromised when it comes to the bed - simply Devine not to mention the tempur cushion ... zzz
Unfortunately, the security alarm on the pub went off at 3am on the second night of our three night stay and there was little information in the room file as to what to do in such an event as there is no one on site outside of normal pub hours. So to that end I would like to forward a recommendation for the security policy to be reviewed and most importantly be communicated effectively to customers staying overnight. This is the only reason I gave 'quality of sleep' : fair
Everything about this pub/restaurant/hotel is absolutely great. The food is excellent, the rooms are beautiful, well furnished with lovely attention to detail. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. Located in a beautiful village just off the M25/M40/A40. I will certainly be making this a regular booking :-)
Nothing! It was all great and far better service and quality than the bigger chains.
The four poster bed was amazing and very comfortable. A bathroom you never want to leave with a fantastic bath and shower . The staff are very friendly and welcoming . Very laid back and relaxing atmosphere.
All of the extra little touches. Clarins in the bathroom, the decor of the bathroom and bedroom. the big bed ! the huge bathroom fresh milk in the mini bar. coffee machine, beautiful glasss in the bedroom memory foam pillows ! water coming out of the ceiling to fill the bath, how cool was that ! :)
you havent quite mastered your mojitos but to be fair, it was late and you don't offer a cocktail menu.
Everything. Tasteful refurbishment of rooms with quality fittings throughout, and still retaining the period characteristics and charm. Great stay for us, even down to the choice of music in bar.
Bathroom spotless Waiting Staff friendly and helpful especially one of the waitresses
Arriving in a temperature of 28C to find a fur runner on the bed Promised milk for coffee machine - didn't arrive. Breakfast - no fruit - door steps for toast -no offer of cereals - one cup of coffee only offered - I had asked for a pot of coffee - (especially as non in bedroom) toast and bacon all piled on one plate - and a used jar of strawberry jam presented with a jar of marmalade. Did not touch the jam. If this is five star I would have expected the five star service and food - I have been in better three star hotels. With a better choice of food etc.
