lovely room and bathroom
The accommodation had a wonderful feel to it. The food was great and the beamed ceiling, four poster, mixed with modern and retro facilities of the bedroom was wonderful. Sadly just one night spoilt us for our next day stay in Central London.
Got lost in the bath with the overhead water flow. Closed my eyes to the running water and it bounced off my head onto the tiled floor. A chuckle afterwards but a clean up at the time. Flat beer but then I'm from Yorkshire and the landlord and I had a banter over that.
Stunning room with everything you could need. Luxurious bathroom. Food pricey but worth every penny. Breakfast was delicious. All staff friendly and helpful. some noise from bar, but all over by 11ish (and it didn't really bother me anyway). I will def go back.
Good food, comfortable room, all round very good place to stay. Not really suitable for children but for couples or travelling business people great.
Parking can be limited if you arrive late but it was December so Christmas Meal season could excused otherwise no other issues
For business users a cooked breakfast could be earlier. If you want a full English then allow until 8.20am to be served.
An absolutely lovely place indeed. Great food, wonderful staff, extremely comfortable bed with lovely large room and super bathroom. Well beyond my expectations.
Beautiful Boutique style hotel with a lovely pub and restaurant. Unfortunately the bathroom radiator was t in so it was cold and then the heating in the bedroom went off and l froze! A cold night.
Loved this place. So full of character and comfort. Felt like a princess and really didn't want to leave. Very friendly staff and absolutely fabulous food. Will definitely go back
The staff and the Pub.
Road noise when you are sleeping.
Found the Black Horse on Booking.com, believed the reviews and was not disappointed. Convenient location for travelling to uxbridge the next morning. Gorgeous and spacious boutique room and bathroom and friendly staff. Breakfast included with all the usual options.
Just be aware that you are in a room over a working pub so we did get woken up by a beer delivery at 4 in the morning! However, still would go back.
Both our Welsh Host & Jaime from the Bar, ensured that our short stay was superb.!..
Wanted to stay longer.
- very nice and helpfull service - very clean at all - lovely food and breakfast
The owners have gone all out to make a fantastic, comfortable room. I was only staying for one night for a business meeting the next day but I'll be visiting again I'm sure.
I want to live there!
Staff superb and should be sent to train other companies on how to treat their customers. Room was excellent and not the usual boring hotel room. Evening meal was superb and of course the early morning breakfast.
Prices of drinks at bar more than double compared with North of England.
Very relaxed atmosphere
Wines too pricey.
couldn't fault it in any way
It is a incredible place. We were in awe how everything was top notch. The room beautiful, Pub area decorated in period and in a sophisticated style. All of the people working there were very welcoming and helpful. Oh yeah, the evening meal and breakfast, delicious! Would love to go back.
Relaxed comfort and friendly staff.
TrAffic near Gerard's cross
Facilities within the room were excellent and the bathroom huge, though not sure about the bath being filled from the ceiling tap?? The service was very good especially the preparation of the breakfast basket for the morning. I did not make a note of her name but the lady (Jane I think) who looked after me when I arrived could not have been more helpful. My meal in the bar area was excellent
Surprised that the breakfast times started at 08.30 Mon-Fri. Not helpful when on a business trip. The breakfast option, whilst appreciated, grated a little considering the cost of the room which included a full breakfast? Lack of suitably place hooks in the bathroom, especially near the shower, mentioned on check-out
Lovely room and fantastic bathroom with large bath and shower. Friendly staff, tasty breakfast and enjoyed a meal in the restaurant in the evening. Would be happy to use again for business or pleasure.
Large wardrobe but no chest of drawers in the bedroom. Also although it wasn't a problem for me as I was close to where I needed to be for work in the morning and my meeting didn't start until 10am, breakfast isn't served until 8.30am which could be a challenge if you have to start your working day earlier. Lastly you are over a pub so although last orders are called for 11pm it may be noisy if you wanted an early night.
We loved the room. Nicely furnished, spacious bathroom with good toiletries. Comfortable large bed.
My wife's meal was not very good, and when we gave this feedback, nothing was done by the waitress other than "I will let them know"
Room and style Plate and bathtub in the bathroom Excellent meal
The location was perfect, rooms are lovely and comfortable and feels like home. Food & service is excellent, in fact I cannot fault this B&B at all, love it.
Wow factor bathroom, fabulous breakfast, and exceptional service from Jane , front of house representative throughout our stay, made us so welcome, and ensured we had everything we needed to guarantee a great mini break.
Arrived Sunday evening after long drive, to be advised last orders for dinner was 18.30pm, with no alternative dining venue in village. Would have been nice if a later menu available for residents.
