The setting was lovely with good views over the moors and immaculately kept grounds. The staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful and seemed to enjoy their work which gave a relaxed atmosphere. The selection of food and drink was varied, of brilliant quality and good value.

The hand-held shower in our room was a nuisance (but appreciate that rooms are gradually being updated). I found the bed only adequately comfortable which may have affected my quality of sleep. The lack of mobile phone signal was frustrating but of course is beyond the control of the proprietors.
