The proximity of the hotel was great you could park up and walk everywhere or catch the bus into Oxford
Comfortable beds, lovely breakfast, location.
A shower curtain pole that collapsed when we used it, a TV with poor reception
Friendly and good location for church service we attended. Generous in room sustenance eg coffees and teas etc. Excellent breakfast. Character.
Windows needed a good clean inside.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the whole place was exceptionally clean. Was worried as it was on the market square that traffic noise would be heard, but rooms located at the back and was very quiet. Well appointed rooms and the breakfast was great. Plenty of nice pubs in village for dinner. Recommend the Star opposite. Well worth a visit to the Buttery.
The ensuite for room 2 was a little cramped compared to our friends ensuite in bedroom 1.
Great for a visit to Blenheim Palace, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff small room but clean and good bed and en suite.
Parking in Woodstock emmm! But after finding a spot near by at 5pm could then stay till morning after breakfast so worked out fine.
Excellent welcoming staff complimented by superb breakfast
Hotel is in the centre of Woodstock with the main gates to Blenheim Palace just around the corner. The room and bathroom were a good size and fresh and clean. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious with a wide range of choices. There is a free car park within easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly and approachable. I would definitely stay here again.
Room clean and tidy, staff very friendly and helpful. An excellent breakfast menu. Could not fault it
Generally very good , excellent location , very good breakfast
Although a lovely place it is in need of redecorating,it looks a little tired.
location and value for money.
At breakfast, we were not asked what type of eggs on toast would be served and fried ones were served. Not enough butter and milk given. we had to ask for more of everything. On the buffet breakfast no bowls, juice etc had to be asked to replace. One of our rooms was very small and the glass shelf over the washbowl was dangerous when cleaning teeth.
Excellent location for Blenheim and for Oxford. Warm welcome, sweet room and excellent breakfast.
Location and breakfast.
Room over staff "garden". Noisy.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Very helpful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with good selection. Well situated in Woodstock perfect for visitors to Blenheim and the Cotswolds.
Parking may be a problem for some but we had no trouble during our stay.
Good location/food Friendly staff.
Small bathroom .
The Buttery is very handy for Blenheim Palace, walking distance. The premises is very historic yet well appointed and clean with a great breakfast.
The Buttery does not have its own parking and problems were exacerbated by the visiting fair directly outside in the street. The room was adequate but the toilet/shower was cramped. Tea and coffee but no fridge.
The breakfast and leaving!
Parking difficult having arrived in afternoon. Bedside light not working (does nobody check?) headboard and carpet very dusty, very noisy from people walking about in rooms above kept us awake until gone 2am and next morning market stalls erected early opposite bedroom window.
Location was very central
Noisy toilet Poor noise insulation between rooms Very ordinary breakfast served on stone cold plates £115 B and b :(
The bed was divine. Breakfast choices excellent. Staff welcoming.
Hard to fill the kettle. That's all.
We were made to feel welcome and the staff were very helpful.
Good location Nice room, bath and shower Buffet part of breakfast Selection of tea and coffee in room Clean
Overpowering smell of TCP throughout stay - was told it was cleaning fluid. Couldn't open window to get fresh air as it was directly above the smelly & noisy bin and staff smoking area. TV reception ranged from terrible to non existent. Misleading details made me feel uncomfortable as soon as I arrived (the advertised free parking is just in public parking bays on the street - which officially are for 1hr only. I was told by staff on arrival that these are not enforced, but was told later by locals that they sometimes are. The garden is just the paved and walled in back yard / corridor to get to the rooms) Burnt toast and very vinegary poached eggs Cleaner (who appeared to double as breakfast cook) tried to enter my room when I had do not disturb sign on the door - was only prevented from doing so, after trying lock and door handle noisily for some time, because I had locked it from the inside and kept the key in the door. He did apologise when I asked him about it, saying he had misread the sign! Broken shower rail
Lovely English village close to Oxford by bus and with Blenheim Castle on the doorstep. Lovely countryside and a comfortable, if small, room. Good pubs for dinner nearby.
great breakfast,comfortable,clean room pleasant staff
Excellent location, next door to Blenheim Palace. Easy bus into Oxford. Able to leave the car parked in Woodstock for the whole duration of visit. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Most comfortable nights sleep.
Been nice if the could have offered evening meals after 6.30 pm.
Clean, comfortable room and beds. Bathroom also clean and serviced daily to a good standard.
Understaffed at reception and at breakfast. Vegetarian breakfast was requested,we had one half of a tomato, two badly poached eggs(tasted of vinegar) a small spoonful of baked beans. Butter for toast was two small portions per person and we did not feel able to ask the one person doing breakfast to supply more. Meat eating breakfast guests seemed quite content with the breakfasts that they had.
Staff very accomodating
