Good location and friendly staff with the exception of breakfast. Spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Lovely courtyard and excellent breakfast. There was no tv signal in the room so no point in having a Tv in there. It was very disappointing that restaurant and bar closed at 6.30. The breakfast waitress lacked enthusiasm, was inappropriately dressed, and came to take breakfast order as soon as we had sat down, giving us no time to look at the menu. The restaurant and bar were not open in the evening. Despite these comments we would come back to the Buttery.

Although we booked late, when we arrived we received a friendly welcome. The room was really comfortable and clean. The breakfast was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We would really recommend Blenheim Buttery for a quiet peaceful stay but it still close to the shops, Blenheim Palace and Restaurants.

Good location right in the centre of Woodstock. Food-wise we had a cream tea one afternoon and breakfast both mornings, both of which were really tasty (the full english is a generous size). Our room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, it had a real country feel to it. We were front facing but as Woodstock is such a quiet town there was no noise in the evenings. Staff very friendly and helpful.

It is definitely not a hotel but a guest house. No bar - we were told they closed at 7.30 pm. No lounge or any area to sit. Last meal served in restaurant at 6.30pm. None of this was mentioned on the website. Parking details very misleading and we couldn't find anywhere to park. When we rang to find out what to do there was only an answer phone and no one returned our call. I would not recommend the accommodation to friends.

The Blenheim Buttery is a quirky, small and friendly b & B. We immediately felt welcome and at home. There is a wonderful coffee shop/cafe/restaurant. The breakfast was fabulous and although some comments have suggested that service is slow, it was cooked fresh to order and hence there is going to be a small wait. We would definitely stay again.

Small and friendly place, very clean and spacious. Ideally situated for trips into Oxford or to visit Blenheim Palace Lighting in room was inadequate (around door and wardrobe area), en suite bathroom door didn't close properly unless forced. Both were only minor issues, and didn't overly detract from what was otherwise a very pleasant stay

Room was good size and had character, bed comfy. Simple, unobtrusive decor. Our late arrival meant that the hotel was closed, however we were met and welcomed. Lack of sufficient staff at breakfast. Only one family and my colleague and I were in restaurant, but it took over 25 minutes for any of our breakfasts to arrive.

Mainly the location, it is ideal in order to visit Blenheim Castle and Oxford itself. The room was good but we were unlucky that it faced the rear /side of the building.[ Absolutely no view ] Good breakfast. Car parking is hit or miss outside the hotel.

The room was clean the beds were comfortable as one would expect when paying £125 a night. On arrival at the Blenheim Buttery the manager demanded full payment before we had even seen the room . This seemed to us to be both unneccessary and offensive . His manner was cold and unwelcoming.

The location is ideal for visiting The Blenheim Palace. There is 24 hour access via seperate access The room was very small with very little room either side of the bed, The bathroom was small but functional. Steps leading up to the rooms are quite steep. On the second morning we had to wait approx 55 minutes for our breakfast, which seemed to have been microwaved.

The quirkiness and location were an immediate attraction. I generally do not like "boxy" hotels. Breakfast wasn't served until 8am. Probably not an issue for a tourist but I was staying on business. However, this wouldn't stop me staying again.

The staff were friendly and efficient and when we pointed out the fact that the shower and toilet had not been cleaned (discarded dirty face wipe in the shower and stains/marks on/in the toilet) the man on reception was very apologetic and embarrassed. He generously offered to clean it himself but we declined and did it ourselves with wipes and spray provided by him. He was just about to go off duty and so his offer was appreciated. He gave us a complimentary bottle of wine as a gesture of good-will. His behaviour alone would bring me back to the hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend the Buttery for the service (including the girl at breakfast) the quality of the food, the overall ambience and the excellent location. there was nothing that I did not like.

Recently refurbished with nice rooms. Good location, especially for Blenheim Palace. Basically unclean. While the room itself was fine, the 'restaurant' (actually a cafe) was not clean. Bins not emptied, not dusted or vacuumed. Breakfast was spartan to say the least for the supposed quality of the establishment. When I requested to speak to a manager - she had the day off. When I emailed my concerns the reply was terse, defensive and didn't resolve my complaints. My recommendation - don't go!

Location was good we had a day at Blenheim palace and a day in Oxford . The staff were very friendly and helpfull The lighting in the room was very dim after 5 o clock we found it impossible to read there were bedside lamps but the light from them was very poor to . We found that the television was hard to watch when lay in bed it would have been better on the wall. Also there was no dressing table for me to do my hair and make up .
