We have stayed here several times; the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and we like the atmosphere Unfortunately our bed was a bit too soft this time, so we didn't sleep particularly well

The staff and the facilities were very good - we had a lovely relaxed evening. The food is good pub grub - nothing fancy, and fairly hefty portions. Good prices. Breakfasts are excellent with a great variety. its right on the road - the rooms are double glazed but if you open the window its a bit noisy.

Very good food - breakfast and dinner. Excellent parking. Helpful staff. Excellent drink making facilities in room. The bed was creaky and the mattress was saggy. Would have liked a bath in the ensuite.

From the start to the end of visit, staff were helpful, pleasant and obliging. Compliments to the chef - Whilst dining on lovely food we could also hear other diners commenting on how nice their food was! Noise of early morning traffic but as we were early walkers it wasn't a major problem

Locality - could walk to the coast if you wanted - all flat terrain Comfortable bedrooms Good food and wine - pricey but quality good breakfasts excellent staff - really tried to 'fit you in' if you were late and hadn't booked meals Near to lots of coastal towns and great walks As already mentioned drinks were pricey Main road separating car park from pub was very busy and fast and sometimes difficult to cross

The garden was nice and the bathroom was big. Breakfast was also very good. Unfortunately, the bed was really uncomfortable. Very springy and small, it made for a poor night's sleep. Also, the location is some way from the seaside.

A great pub B&B. Everything is fairly new as the inn was re-built a few years ago after a fire. Good quality breakfast. Good menu for evening meals too. Very helpful friendly staff. Some traffic noise. Ask for a room at the rear.

We stayed here as we were going to a wedding nearby. It was a weekend of terrible rain and flooding in the town, the people at the hotel could not have been more helpful. They did everything they could to help us to get to the wedding, offering help, advice and even offering to drive us there if we needed! We ate in the restaurant the night before the wedding and the food was very good, might be worth booking ahead though as they are very popular!

room was very comfortable, if small. Good choice on menu from basic to gourmet Room could have done with a second chair in place of the piano stool. Dining much more pub than restaurant and the service a bit forgetful

Friendly proprietor and simple menu reasonably priced. An excellent brekka in the morning although a little rushed and would prefer a noon check out. The car park is across a busy road and the bar rather noisy.

Wheelchair accessibility was terrific. It is so nice to be able to access all areas of a hotel in my wheelchair along with a spacious room and bathroom, which had been specially modified to allow easy access to everything in my shower/commode chair. Your breakfasts were amazing and price for our stay was most reasonable. If we are ever in the region again we will definitely stay with you. We are also recommending your accommodation to family, friends and particularly those people confined to a wheelchair. It was a minor nuisance having to cross the road to get to our car which would have been even harder if it had been raining, which fortunately it did not with our stay enjoying lovely warm weather the entire time.

Fantastic place to spend a night on business or to take a partner for a couple of days away. The Inn as a whole is beautiful, very attractive thatched building, excellent rooms and facilities. Bedroom and en-suite bathroom were of the highest standard and decor is lovely. Staff are very attentive and polite. Evening meal was great, excellent menu. Breakfast was outstanding with locally sourced produce, delicious and set me up well for the day ahead. I shall certainly choose this Inn again when I'm next in the area. I am also considering taking my wife there for a weekend in Sidmouth and if I do, I will stay at The Blue Ball Inn. Highly recommended by me that's for sure!!

We thought the staff were very friendly and the room was lovely and clean. Overall the place was very well maintained having been extensively rebuilt a few years ago. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked, with a wide choice alternatives - individual breakfast requests were welcomed. Having really liked the Blue Ball, the only thing that let it down was the food in the restaurant in the evening. If they could raise the standards in this area, there really would be no reason the leave the venue at all. The range of local beers on offer was a welcome treat.

The hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. Bed linen was of good quality and the bed comfy. Fresh milk was available for the tea/coffee. The hotel food was very good. The hotel was full with dining customers on both nights. The breakfasts were very good, nice napery, cutlery and crockery. The food was hot and nicely served. Newspapers to read at breakfast. Lots of parking. Very near to Sidmouth. Nothing negative to say about the stay. No complaints at all
