The owner is great, loved the real fire in kitchen, tasty, amazing choice breakfast.
Giving this a 10 is not realy enough as it stands out above all the other 10 rated establishments. My wife and I couldn't find the smallest thing to fault from the warm welcome to the departure.
There is nothing to dislike.
The peace and quiet, breakfast and friendly nature of the hostess. Easy to find Privacy The Hens!
Nothing at all...
Good location for south Lakes. Excellent breakfast
Needs better directions
Accommodation was lovely and breakfast was wonderful. Would highly recommend staying here.
From the moment we arrived we where surrounded by amazing views and met by tina who was lovely. Tina showed us to our room which was clean and homely. Ensuit just outside our room was a great size. In the moening tina made us one of the best cooked breakfasts id had for a whil. Will be returning often
I can honestly say there wasnt a single thing i didnt like
Friendly service and clean.
No wi-fi in room. No proper shower only hand held in bath. Difficult to park.
Beautiful location. Lovely comfortable room and great breakfast.
Our host was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and she even gave us a lift to the wedding. The breakfast was also superb. A selection of locally produced breakfast ingredients (we bought a pack of sausages), home made muffins, fruit, pancakes.. Wonderful stuff. Thanks again, we will be returning
fresh backed flapjack and hospitality for tilly our pet staffie
Tina, the owner, was helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. It was quiet, the road noise was not audible from inside the room. Easy access to Southern Lakes. Parking was easy.
Booking.com advertises the Garden Room as being 'en-suite' - however, the owner describes it as having a private bathroom. The rooms above the Garden Room might be used by family members, which means guests could potentially bump into people as they cross the bottom of the stairs to get to the bathroom. The coating on the bath was peeling off in places - surprising for the price charged for the room. There was evidence of dust in bedroom.
The owner was welcoming and friendly
Car parking was difficult. No wifi. The room was supposed to be en suit but you had to walk through a hall way and past a front door to go to the bathroom. The owners son was stain in the rooms above us and no lock on the door so no security or privacy and our sleep was broken by him. Breakfast was sparse. Bathrobes were unclean ... generally disappointed for the price we paid we expected more than we got
Stayed in the garden room, beautiful nice sized room and big bathroom lovely smell of lavander throughout homemade flapjack in room on arrival, very nice touch, slept well, breakfast plenty of choice and all tasted lovely highly reccomend and we would not think twice about going back.
nothing to dislike
The Blue House B&B is a lovely warm, cosy and homely place to stay; with quaint old-fashioned touches in-keeping with the cottage and rural surroundings. The room we stayed in (the 'blue room') was very comfortable and well-decorated with its own excellent shower and toilet room. Tina is a great host who really makes you feel welcome and is only too happy to lay on as much food as you would like for breakfast including pancakes, we really appreciated being looked after there and would recommend the B&B to anyone seeking a pleasant place to stay in picturesque surroundings. Also has free WIFI which was very useful.
Very little to dislike!
Everything was just perfect, wish we had booked longer.Stayed in the garden room which is self contained and very comfortable. The breakfast is superb and great choice.Tina is a great host, and so helpfull. Will stay again soon. One of the best beds we have slept in.
The best home made bread, the breakfast was delicious, the mushrooms were so tasty.
The place was very quaint & cosy, breakfast was good- fresh homemade bread & free range eggs from the owners chicken! Bed was comfy and Tina was very welcoming.
There was a few cobwebs & dust webs hanging around, but probably expected in the countryside and damp on the bathroom walls.
Very helpful and friendly hostess.
Location may worry some clients. An Abattoire is within 100 metres. Rather dark bedroom. No space in shower to place own soap/shampoo. Strange shower arrangement.... temperature and flow controls were OUTSIDE the shower cabinet. Problematic on-site parking.
The room was bright and comfortable with everything that was needed and more, including delicious home made biscuits. The bathroom was clean, modern and equipped with everything. Lovely breakfast cooked by lovely people (well, Tina). The beautiful 17th century cottage is in pretty, quiet and peaceful surroundings. To be escorted to and from your room by two friendly black Labradors was an added delight. Will be going back next year.
We loved the puppies! Although I guess the presence of puppies cannot be guaranteed always ...
Very homely and down to earth, (which is what we like). A real charming cottage. Cute chickens too! (and dog friendly.) Thank you.
very friendly and very helpful
