Just 3 miles from Cartmel and 5-minute drive from the shores of Windermere, The Blue House Bed and Breakfast gives guests views of the fells and the sea. The 17th Century cottage offers Aga-cooked breakfasts and free Wi-Fi connection. Each of the 2 guest rooms comes with private bathrooms, and includes free toiletries and home-baked biscuits. The garden room has a private entrance and a wood-burning stove, plus under-floor heating beneath the Lakeland slate flagstones. Both rooms feature Freeview TV, a DVD player, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Breakfast is served by the wood-burning stove in the stone-flagged dining room, with porridge, pancakes or a full English as options. There are several pubs and restaurants in the village of Cartmel including Simon Rogan's Michelin starred restaurant L'Enclume. The nearby Crown pub in High Newton serves quality food in its traditionally styled restaurant. The surrounding fells provide many walking and mountain biking routes, while the boating marina on Windermere is only a 20-minute drive away.
