Pleasant stay all round
There was nothing we didn't like excellent stay
Staff helpful and friendly.
Very dirty. Thankfully the bed and bathroom ok. In dire need of jolly good clean and renovation.
Location for Goodwood. Staff efficient and nice food in the pub.
Room itself and internal bathroom pretty small. Bathroom smells of damp, & could do with a change of toilet brush. Limited catering of breakfast options due to having to leave early, i.e. 7am on a Sunday.
-Staff were efficient, helpful and friendly -Food in the pub was fab! including the wine. (I loved the bangers and mash, fishcakes and creme brulee) -the room was spacious and beautifully presented - breakfast was lovely...cooked to perfection! -central location for me to get to Chithurst the next morning.
Friendly staff, good food.
No staff on site over night
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable.
Bedside table had a thick layer of dust on it. Asked what time I wanted breakfast earliest being 8.30, but also if I got down early there would be someone there, which there was, however chef didn't arrive till 8.30 and then stood outside having a cigarette before starting to cook
The cooked Breakfast was amazing
Location, restaurant, friendly atmosphere.
New owner who still has some refurbishment to do.
Proximity to South Downs Way - not directly on the route but very accessible from/to it. Comfortable bed. Facilities in room. Good en suite. Chilled water available in cabinet on landing. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff who went out of their way for me.
The check-in time was not as advertised on the Booking.com confirmation. Instead of 14.00 onwards, check-in does not appear to be possible until 18.00 when the staff arrive. Breakfast was not available before 9am, which might be a bit late for walkers keen to be getting a move on. No staff on site overnight.
Room was comfortable if a little small.
Serious road noise
The food was excellent,as was the real ale and wine.
£175 for that room was a rip-off even for Glorious Goodwood. The shower was very poor,if the hot water was that temperature in the winter it'd be freezing and the water pressure/flow was abysmal.
The food The staff Decor
food was good and staff were friendly and helpful
I booked because this was the only place in the area that had three rooms free on the night. It had no connectivity with my devices (O2), and for me, wasn't great value at the price I was charged.
I liked the staff and the food. I was on a back packing holiday and felt a bit scruffy but was made welcome.
I would have preferred an en suite for the price
The food was superb could not fault it in anyway. The staff & service super.
£175 for room sharing a bathroom a bit much in this day & age
Food was good.
No staff available for check in until 6:00. Tiny room. No chair. Charged double for a single.
Great staff, comfy bed and good food.
Late breakfast, no tv
Great food, lovely surroundings
No Air Con
Staff goes above and beyond to ensure comfort and logistics.
No a/c Wifi cuts in and out
Charming owners, lovely rooms. Good beds, quiet night's sleep.
Floors in communal areas and in the rooms had not been cleaned in ages. Dinner was quite expensive. It was generally good, but I had a roast pork shoulder for dinner which had not been cooked so the meat was raw, but even though I pointed it out to the owner, they apologised but no concession was made to the price of the meal even though I was unable to eat the meat. My friend's meal was fine though. Overall, I felt the rooms were too expensive at £80 a night (single occupancy in a double room), considering the location.
-Friendly staff -Convenient location for the wedding being attended -excellent breakfast
-On busy road so noisy -hot on a summers night, especially as opening a window meant more noise. -Strange décor in bedrooms!
Food was delicious and outstanding. Simon was a very good host. Value for money was very good
Noisy late night arriving guests (not the pub's fault)
Stayed for 5 nights, Simon and staff very good. Comfy beds and free wifi great. Lovely breakfasts and evening meals, made packed lunches for my work days and made a dinner 'off menu' for me as I wanted something different one night. Good real ale.
After last customers have left after say 10pm the place is closed. You have a key but arrive to an empty place so a bit more like a traditonal b&b in that sense. However if you want a late drink this can be left in the fridge for you. Also no TV but wifi is good.
Breakfast was good
In 2014 and in a 'Superior Room' I was surprized to find shared facilities, a small double bed, no TV or Internet.
