The location and quietness and off road parking.
The food offered was quite expensive for the portions served and no vegetables. The breakfast was ok but the second morning the bacon was practically incinerated but still served. We,ve stayed here before and always enjoyed it but this time were disappointed and I don.t think we shall be returning.
Friendly relaxed service. Food good
The ambience could have been cosier to suit a village pub. The communal rooms where rather stark I would have expected a more shabby chic look.
lovely breakfast with loads of choice
Amazing staff, great location and great comfy room.
Could do with more vegetarian food options. But this didn't spoil an amazing stay.
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff efficient. Location excellent and convenient for visiting Harrogate.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
no bad experience however the communal room needed a little more atmosphere such as reading material , low level music maybe.
I regularly overnight in hotels and B and Bs on account of my work. This hotel is the best I've stayed in by a long way, on all counts. I intend to stay here again for pleasure, not business. I didn't need my hot water bottle either!! The room was gloriously warm.
Very friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome. Great value at £50per night Lovely location some beautiful walks with our dog
The bathroom in need of refurbishment Some of the meal price's too expensive Drink price's also expensive
The whole experience was lovely from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. We were in a small double room according to their description. There was nothing small about the 6ft bed.
If I were to nit pick I'd say some of the paint work needs freshing up. But that is being picky.
It was in a beautiful and relaxing location. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere.
We would have eaten in the restaurant, but it seemed over priced.
I paid a very reasonable rate of £100 for 2 adults for 2 nights including breakfast. In arrival we were shown to our room and had been upgraded from a small double to a lovely king size room. Very pleased!! Room was great, nice touches in the room like the drinks selection and chocolate boar on the pillow. If you stay here you MUST try the lamb for 2 in the restaurant it is AWESOME!! We enjoyed our meal immensely and it was well presented, gorgeous and great value for money. We looked at the food being served all evening and the quality is high so don't be put off by the prices you are getting a great deal. Great selection at breakfast too, the staff are very attentive and you don't want for anything. The free entry to walk around the beautiful Ripley Castle grounds was a bonus, well worth a visit. We caught the bus outside the hotel (£11 return for 2, great deal and no hassle with car parking) into Harrogate which took less than 15 mins. Having been into Harrogate we are so glad we stayed in Ripley it has things to do, the great outdoors, peace and quiet and the best food to eat in town!!! Truly lovely place if we come back I will book here straight away.
The only downside I can think of was that the bathroom smelt a bit musty but if you leave the fan on it takes that away so didn't affect us really.
This was a very good deal - half price the usual price.
We got a very good deal so we shouldn't grumble - but for a superior room ( which we questioned) it was in a separate house to the hotel which meant going outside in the pouring rain to reach the hotel for meals. The bedroom was spoilt by poor lighting, and not sufficient storage for clothes. OK for a weekend but I wouldn't like to stay longer - for that reason alone. The shower was good but the cubicle small. Needs updating if I were to spend the full £150 per night. Sadly I left a coat over the back of a chair in the bar and after an hour went back to retrieve it - but it had gone. After many enquiries the staff couldn't find it - so obviously it had been taken - what a shame! Partly my own fault - but perhaps not good reflection on clientele.
Lovely comfy beds, and how welcoming and friendly everyone was.
We stayed in a house across the road from the Inn. Fabulous. Entry to ripely castle was a bonus. All the staff were very attentive and helpful.
Not a bad experience but we thought the food for an evening meal was over priced and rather salty.
The food was amazing. Lovely location. Highly recommended.
My other half and I visited for an overnight get away and certainly wasn't disappointed. We were greeted by a very friendly lady at reception who once we had checked in showed us around which we thought was lovely. Our room was very clean with a nice big comfy bed and there were also little personal touches too. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious. Our waiter Charlie could not do enough for us. There was a very good choice for breakfast the next day and the service was very quick! Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice chilled get away and we will definitely be returning again :)
Comfortable room. Good food & drink. Ideally situated for Harrogate.
Just returned from a mother and Daughter break. Room was spotless. We had our dogs with us and a bed with dog biscuits were provided for them. Staff were attentive and polite. Bar was very busy Saturday afternoon, which made for a good atmosphere. Still found a table though. Dinner was lovely as was the breakfast. This was our second visit and hopefully won't be our last.
Lovely quiet location, food good.
The room with breakfast was Excellent value for money. We booked evening meal in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. All of the staff were friendly and helpfull, we will certainly return.
Very pet friendly. Very helpful staff. Lovely location
Surroundings are lovely, would have liked more time there to explore the castle. The room was extremely comfortable with a good selection of teas and a cafetière.
