Everything! The bed was comfortable. There was a feather duvet on the bed with an option for feather pillows if you wished. The tea making facilities were brilliant. First place I have stayed in (and I travel a lot) that has a teapot in the room. Food was excellent and the welcome and service from the staff were outstanding. Will be certainly staying again.
Location and surroundings are great, beautiful village and bus stop to main towns right outside.Second time here and would recommend it.
Had to come home.
Comfort, pleasant staff, good restaurant, free access to Ripley Castle Gardens
Very comfortable clean room with excellent facilities. Staff welcoming and location very convenient.
Restaurant was a bit disappointing.
Located in the grounds of Ripley Castle. Beautiful setting. Staff very friendly. Room small but very clean and comfortable. Food in restaurant delicious. Would return here without hesitation.
Charming village just a stone throw from Harrogate. We stayed in a room over the road from the main hotel which was particularly quiet.
Good position easy to travel into Harrogate.Comfortable room pleasant lounges
Found the restaurant very disappointing
Bags of character, immaculately clean and stylishly decorated room. Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast and a complimentary pass to the castle gardens just 2 minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
Village staff beer
Building Friendliness of staff
Lovely Hotel/ Inn , lovely location. Originally booked for one night - then arrange to stay for two. Free access to the Local 'Castle ' gardens an extra treat.
The Boars head seemed to be the only option (in walking distance) for evening food. (Maybe we missed something?) . This was great for just two evenings . Might feel limiting for a longer stay .
comfy bed lovely dinner eggs Florentine for breakfast nice mugs in room boar shaped chocolate on pillow
bathroom paint and grouting could do with some TLC
Evening menu limited choice
Really nice hotel in fantastic setting serving freshly prepared food (from the castles own gardens) and local real ales. The staff are friendly, personable and communicative, and the atmosphere relaxed and unhurried. We just enjoyed being back after 10 years
Mattress far too hard....
The very friendly welcome and excellent breakfast.
comfortable atmospheric accommodation in a lovely setting - excellent
it was all good
Comfortable bedroom, beer garden (weather permitting) quiet location. Easy access by bus to Harrogate. Good base for seeing Dales.
Menu claimed to be changed daily but did not. Menu had French theme which didn't suit us. Dining room was very quiet (nobody there except us) when web site claimed it was so busy you had to book in advance. I booked 3 nights but after first night cancelled next two. Ripley is very quiet.
Beer garden; breakfast quality; Old-World environment; access to the castle grounds; easy parking; selection of beers in the bar; the atmosphere in the bar; very friendly and helpful receptionist; good access to WiFi; good coffee making facility in the room; comfortable bedroom and en suite.
This was our second visit to the Boar's Head and we didn't like the change of menu to fit the French milieu. The old menu featuring traditional English estate meats with a lot of choices of game from the estate was more unique in our view.
The friendliness of the staff, The room. The dinner and breakfast. The location.
Location and ambiance.
Dinner in restaurant a little disappointing in terms of food selection and service but at breakfast both were very good.
I have never stayed at a hotel that provided such a high level of attention to detail. There is absolutely nothing I can fault it on.
The cost of wine seemed a tad expensive.
Staff Comfortable Breakfast
