Pretty bedroom with an extremely comfortable bed. Loved the Bush radio and the chocolate boar! Very good attention to detail. The breakfast was excellent as was dinner the previous evening.
3 days of heaven, well done everyone. We traveled with our little dog
1 think your round black pudding at breakfast is not nice. Stick with your triangle one, I think it Doreens ?
the huge bed! free wi-fi super breakfast
if you are providing a cafetiere for coffee it should be big enough for two people
I've stayed here before and have always found the reception from all members of staff just right. The rooms are comfortably furnished and well laid out meeting all requirements, including a chocolate boar.
Access to the accomodation area was restricted due to thoughtless parking by a member of the castle staff. This would have caused difficulty for any guest requiring disabled access. I raised the issue when checking out and they were sympathetic to the ptential difficulty.
room was very clean, nice bar area and great breakfast.
Excellent room well kept clean, modern bathroom good products
Not a long enough stay
the bed room/the bed/comfort/welcoming
bar & restaurant staff/the restaurant meal /no hot water power
Comfortable and characterful hotel. Provided me with gluten free bread for breakfast which is much appreciated
Good location. Helpful staff and clean comfortable room. Beautiful place to stay.
Just a bit far out for an evening although taxi was reasonable.
We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service
Great stay, great staff, great hotel
Warm and friendly staff Good selection of Real Ales Cleanliness of room Location Good breakfast
A lovely location and relaxed atmosphere
Disappointed not to be able to dine in restaurant (shooting party!) despite booking. Bar/Bistro hadn't the same ambience for my wife's birthday!
The location Big, comfortable bed Tv in room and facilities etc hairdryer, iron in room were good.
The food was not great and not worth the price paid. There was little choice on menu and the majority offered were roasts which at best were carvery standard but expensive. The potatoes were old etc. The waiting staff seemed to have little knowledge of food served and were not the best presented.
Everything. Staff were friendly and helpful; room was cosy and quiet; food in the restaurant was good.
Nothing was too much trouble. Asked for fresh milk for tea and brought it up. Asked for bottle of tap water for the room and they brought it up. Room spotlessly clean and bed very comfy.
It would be really really nit picking but no beans or hash browns gor breakfast. Having said that the breakfast was lovely.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The room was lovely. All the staff were fantastic and even though there was no steak on the menu, we enquired and the chef made us the most delicious steak. Thanks to all the staff for making our visit so relaxing!
Enjoyed our stay as we were at a wedding. Stayed two nights and staff were very friendly. We had a lovely clean room. The location was fantastic
The bar was very small and restaurant design poor and have stayed in better fish and chip shops. The design of restaurant does not match the design and features of the rest of boars head. Menu poor.
The Staff, overall Style of the pub the Food was mostly Excellent. Bed linen and bathtroom towels pristine. The Location of the pub could not be faulted. Beautiful Scenery and Setting. Wonderful atmospheric Midnight Service really set the move for Christmas ( See negatives ) Very acceptable gift from Father Christmas on the understanding we had paid for this gift as there was not even a complimentary drink from the ' Pub'.
Parking - difficulty parking as non - residents had taken up parking spaces on arrival. Second care park full too with heavy cases to carry. Spoke to manageress who answered ' 'Well we are a pub !!' Food - overall excellent but unfortunately have ' food poisoning' from mushroom soup still 2 days after leaving. Informed management on leaving ( no interest shown ). Hated eating in the Bar. Christmas lunch spoiled by being seated 4 feet away from very loud locals could not hear ourselves speak. Other residents complained too. Many had dressed for dinner. Not atmosphere for dining. Service in Restaurant excellent at Breakfast. ( No other time in Restaurant ) Major problem - Christmas package - No afternoon tea available Christmas Eve ( asked staff member said it was not on. No mulled wine following Midnight Mass - locked out of Pub - Nightwatchman unlocked door and when asked about Punch said he did not know anything about it . ' I can put something in the microwave !!! ' Spoiled mood created by Midnight service at the beautiful little church across from the pub.
Excellant Food, Location, and Bedroom
The Noise from old creaking floorboards seem to be a problem at night Somethings did not work in the room - a lightbulb gone, the shower blocked etc.
