Score from 85 reviews Fabulous
Only 15-20 minute to Alton Towers which was the purpose of our stay. Excellent service from all staff. Value food and good breakfast included. All facilities we needed.
Very close to railway, having said that not impacted in any way but some people could be, not sure if any rooms might be close. Decor not up to date and a bit tired in places (ie bathroom)- again no impact but reflected in scores. We quite liked that it had more character than some hotels you go to!
Excellent all round. Couldn't be faulted
Hotel was excellent staff great meals great breakfast excellent. Over hall great place to stay.
Everything, rooms were clean and tidy. Showers were powerfull and hot. Breakfast in the morning was brilliant, toast/cereals then full English breakfast. All for a very reasonable price. We were disappointed we did not book for 2 nights instead. Will be returning again!
Nothing, for the price you cannot complain about anything.
Food is good
Bathrooms need updating
We have stayed quite a few times and really enjoy the hotel. The staff are good and very helpful. The cleaning staff work extremely hard and always had a smile. Breakfasts are extremely good and the carvery excellent value. The roast beef was far better than I could cook. The bar is well stocked and there is a good atmosphere. We found our stay very relaxing. We will look forwards to staying there again soon.
The only thing we didn't like was noise from the room above on this visit. The people were stamping around until the early hours and then had the television on at about 3 am. Apart from that there really wasn't anything to dislike.
Friendly staff Excellent food and value Everything as good as on our previous visits
I like the room where it was situated and the room decore
The network on my phone kept disapearingand the wi fi was poor didnt work at all in my room the hot water in bath was greenish when out
Super hotel and gardens, exellent food, comfy, and clean room, immaculate bedding, A+
it was all exellent.
Comfy bed, nice size tv. Plenty of Tea and coffee etc Hairdryer and iron in room is very handy
You can hear EVERYTHING going on in other rooms. Was woken at 6 by nextdoor's shower. All in all a bit dated and shabby, don't get too excited by the free breakfast either!
Perfect for an overnight stop as we travelled from London and we were going to nearby Alton Towers the next day.
Only staying one night.
Cheap and cheerful. Very friendly lady on check in. Good location for Alton Towers.
Poor food quality at dinner and breakfast.
Food in bar was good value for money.
Rooms tired and run down. Bed matress seen better days, old and lumpy. Cleaning should be more of a priority.
the room was better than expectations the hotel was in keeping with its surroundinds the staff helpful frendly, two restaurants good choice of food on the menu a nice step back in time.but with all the moden touches at hand.
The food was fantastic!!!! The beer was kept well too..... :-)
Loved friendly staff and related bar and choices of munus
Nothing to dislike
The premises was fabulous. The staff and service was first class. The breakfast was brilliant. They made my stay a real treat from the moment we arrived.
Unfortunately I was awoken both nights by noise. The walls and ceilings are obviously thin. The first night i was awoken by snoring next door and the second by banging and clattering from guests upstairs.
The staff were very well trained and always friendly and helpful and ready to do that bit extra. A small omission from the room was remedied within 5 minutes. You couldn't ask for more. The food was very good indeed and excellent value for money and you couldn't fault the serving staff as they were most attentive, clearing the used dishes quickly, yet not being intrusive and were always most friendly. We have stayed a couple of times before and have met up with family for lunches a few other times and have always found the standard very good. everything you could wish for was provided in the room.
Could hear rooms eathier side and floor is very noisy could do with some sound proofing
Nice sized rooms and road not busy
Wall in bedrooms a bit thin, you could here the child above stamping round the floor!
Spacious room Good food in restaurant Friendly and helpful Staff Comfortable bed A very comfortable, traditional hotel where felt welcomed
a pervasive stench in the car park some rooms a bit tired
The comfy beds! :) friendly... Lovely location and beautiful flowers & scenery lovely deep baths in rooms ..Would go back & would recommend.
It's hard to find anything bad only a few minor things that could be improved..The cavery...not enough roast potatoes you only get two. Didn't realise i had to pay for my room on departure thought I'd already paid for it I think people need to be more aware of this and this needs to be stated clearer.
