Friendly, accommodating, excellent restaurant, good prices.
Staff where very helpful
Room 26 did not sleep very well because there is a train line at the back of the property also you can hear the noise of the main road which is very busy road. WFI could not get at all in my room. I would not stay here again.
The hotel was cosy, clean and comfortable. We booked a table and had a meal in the bar area. The food was tasty and excellent value for money.
Although we enjoyed our stay I felt the hotel lacked atmosphere. There were lots of people having meals but they seemed to leave shortly after eating.
Lots of ground floor rooms for ease of access. The rooms are quite spacious.
Could not access the free wi-fi but this could be caused by a black spot. However, this was not detrimental to my stay.
The staff was friendly.we ordered food and was brought to our room, absolutely amazing food.
Think the hotel could allocate rooms in a more convenient fashion. We were stuck on a floor where there were not other children which meant our neighbours where partying and smoking through the night. The smoke filtered into out bathroom and our 14 month old son who's heavily asthmatic was having and hard time. Front desk apologised, which means absolutely nothing as my family and I did not sleep until 2:30 am. All we were offered was an apology. Not useful after spending the entire night awake. Breakfast wasn't great at all the waitress was rude and very disengaged. Was served cold porridge and substandard English breakfast. We will not be returning to this hotel and it's a shame as it is in a beautiful location
The fact that you accommodated u Them so they could have breakfast with us.
Lovely staff .good rooms good food nothing
rooms getting out dated but not bad
We had a great breakfast with generous freshly cooked portions. The carvery was excellent value. Our room was lovely, no noise. The staff were all very helpful
The bedroom was too hot and we could not turn down the radiator.
Wifi - although fine in bar etc - did not work in bedroom.
Food in the bar was very enjoyable, lovely open fires made it cosy.
Only negative was the courtyard room( which I had requested) could not pick up the free wi-fi.
Charming, home made food is a must... Staff couldn't be more helpful, I left my charger behind and staff called to let me know, I was so grateful!
Wifi in the room I was in was non existent. I was there for work so not an option. Was offered another room, still poor but managed by sitting in doorway. Perhaps a booster would help
The food was excellent and friendly staff
Poor Wi-Fi in the rooms. The Hotel part did not reflect the same level of the restaurant.
My particular room was absolutely fine in terms of size and facilities and cleanliness
Most of the staff were unprofessional, seemed unfriendly and abrupt. We were not advised of the breakfast cut off time as individuals checking into rooms. Breakfast was therefore missed when we entered at 9:50 it had finished at 9:30. When advising the receptionist upon check out all she could manage was it says on the website and within the book in my room. When booking 6 months in advance I'm pretty sure anything you read on the site is long gone from memory and checking a book in the room when staying for one night and having a busy family evening out of the hotel, I'm sorry but that's not likely to happen. She wanted to pass blame onto myself instead of acknowledging that the hotel should advise those that have paid for breakfast upon check in out of courtesy and good customer relations. Overall a disgusting attitude and customer service skills!
Professionalism yet personal to our needs
Quality of the food was good as was the staff.
Our room could have done with a dusting and the cobwebs round the lights and the corners of the rooms needed vacuuming. Room could do with updating.
Everything - the staff, food, rooms and location
Welcoming staff, nice warm room on arrival and excellent breakfast
Mattress on bed could have been more comfortable but still slept well.
Friendly attentive staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable relaxed break. Superb value, will book again.
Wi fi could be better.
Staff are great and food is fantastic
A hotel attached to a pub. The bar served decent priced drinks, and delicious food. Clean rooms, friendly staff.
The beds were a bit lumpy, mobile signal was poor (on Three) and WIFI in the room was pretty poor. The rooms need a decorating refresh... looked very 90's.
Poor or no WiFi. Poor cell phone signal
The staff were friendly and nothing too Much trouble
As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable being alone. Staff made me very welcome. Room was very comfortable.
Breakfast ... dinner... comfortable beds....quiet...
