Lovely comfortable rooms in a canal side location. Spacious en-suite with bath plus large separate shower.It was good to have an iron and Ironing board and hair dryer available. There was also a generous supply of tea , coffee and hot chocolate. The restaurant meals were very good and we enjoyed a pleasant tow path walk after our meal. We have been told by friends who live locally that the Sunday carvery is also very good.

They need to make more Cheese pie as they ran out before I could order..it looked really nice :-)

Dave, in particular. Nothing was too much trouble, and he even anticipated correctly our order for breakfast on the second day. The facilities were great, especially the number of electric sockets, as we play golf and it is useful to charge golf batteries.

Slight misunderstanding over the timing of breakfast on the first morning but it was more than rectified the next day.

Huge rooms, huge beds and huge bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely so too was the coffee. The staff were all very friendly and we would certainly book again.

Pub is good, rooms are ace, shower is cracking. Would be a great place to sit in the sun, right on the canal. Which was perfect for us as we were cycling the length of the Liverpool to Leeds canal. Staff we're really friendly. Breakfast was good too. Would definitely go back :-)

Ordered food in time but they ran out of gas, we'd been cycling all day so was really hungry. The dep manager though was spot on in getting us a takeaway number for delivery. Nothing too major. These things can happen, the place is quite rural but thats the beauty of it.

The location was great, We only stayed one, night, I would have liked to stayed long. so I could have enjoyed the inn itself and the area.

The room was good and facilities. The food was excellent served on hot plates and the staff were very friendly. We hope to return for a longer stay.

Although the food was good it took two hours to serve and complete the meal. By the time the main meal came it was too late to eat comfortably. Although we were not in a hurry - next time we will make a point of going earlier then 8 o'clock to have a meal.

The location by the canal was great. The room was the best we have stayed in for a long time and most of the staff were very friendly and helpfull

The guy that cooked the breakfasts was late, and he can't cook eggs. When asked if the breakfast was ok, we said no, and got a shrug of the shoulders.

Lovely location. Very nice decor in rooms. Nice staff.

Everything was lovely. Could do with an alternative to the pillows - they were like rock! But that's probably just me!

Lovely setting, well done out rooms and good shower/facilities.

We were not happy with hotels.com for messing up our booking and would not use hotels.com again. We booked two rooms for one night - names for both rooms were requested and provided at the time of booking. However, when we arrived only one room had been notified for two nights. We were lucky there was a room available for us, however none were ready and we had to wait to check in after a long day visiting family in hospital.

Very nice rooms and decorated very nicely. The breakfasts were excellant and the pub/restaurant did excellant pub grub. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Would definately recommend to stay here.

Our bathroom had a few damaged bits and the shower could have done with some bleach! The bed was two single mattreses put together which was fine but one of the mattresses felt like it had collapsed in the middle! I didn't mind this but it gave my husband a bad back.

The staff where freindly and very helpful. The food menu was good offering a nice selection of choices i recommend the gourmet burger it was excellant. WiFi in bar area Room was clean and very comfortable. great location just off Junction 3

If possble WiFI in the rooms would be benificial

Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was very well fitted out and comfortable. Large bathroom with both bath and walk in shower - great! Good breakfast served in a lovely comfy and cosy room, separate from the bar/restaurant and used as a coffee lounge for the rest of the day. The location by the canal is picturesque and there are nice walks along the tow path.

very freindly staff , great location, rooms very modern and very clean, en suite very spacious, bath and a water fall shower !!! food is very good as so was the breackfast 5 out of 5 we will be going back very soon cant wait

Well-designed and spacious rooms away from the main pub. Very fancy bathroom, lots of storage and a comfortable bed.

Having to go across to the pub for breakfast - it was pouring with rain.

Very comfortable accommodation. Bathroom high standard of equipment and appearance. Staff friendly and keen to be helpful.

Resaturant service was extremely slow ( 40+ minutes to serve a simple order). Breakfast was due to start at 9 a.m. (Surely a bit late for most business clients) but when we turned up at 9.05 we were told that the chef had still not arrived. We eventually got something at 9.30.
