눉I checked in at around 3 pm on Saturday 22 nd of August to be told that the hotel had been trying to contact me by phone for some time and had contacted Booking.com so they could pass on the following message.
That the hotel facilities, Bar and Restaurant were closed to the public and residents from 5 pm as it had booked a private function, i checked my phone for missed calls and messages and found none i also checked my email's and had no messages from Booking . com in relation to the hotel and the private function.
I was told there is a pub about a mile and a half away with good food and that was it.
this particular evening it was absolutely teeming with rain so walking was a no go which meant the meal had to be eaten with a drink as i had to drive, also i had to spend my Saturday evening in the room, not what we really wanted to do, we were looking forward to having a drink and then enjoying a bottle of wine with our dinner but alas it wasn't to be
Despite being told that attempts had been made i didn't receive any messages from either the hotel or the booking agent
I had previously already booked to stay again at the Boatyard on the 5th September but have cancelled the reservation and will not return until i receive what i think is a reasonable explanation of the events, i felt it was a take it or leave situation and as you are here you have very little option, very sad and very poor customer relations
눇I have stayed at the Boatyard on two previous occasions so i obviously like the place, i like the fact that with the rooms being away from the main fabric of the hotel rooms are mostly quite, in general i have no problems with the Boatyard but will explain what to me was a major let down on this trip
