everything could not fault it in any was, staff was friendly, very clean, comfy bed, huge room and huge bathroom with bath and shower,(shower not over bath) all in all excellent.
there was nothing not to like.
We booked at the boatyard inn because we were going on a canal boat cruise and the inn was at the marina. The room was nicely decorated and the bed very comfy. We stayed two nights and had the full english breakfast which was excellent. A most enjoyable and relaxing stay.
It took us a while to book in the manager seemed very busy. Perhaps there could be breakfast cereal put out for people to help themselves. Our only niggle.
Loved the stay over. Didn't want to leave my room. Breakfast was lovely and definitely booking again early next year
The setting the comfort of the room, the staff couldn't do enough for you, very friendly and polite. Breakfast lovely, just how we like it.
Nothing to dislike
Lady servering breakfast - made us laugh with her down to earth ways - very nice
Bad lighting in bathroom dirty exterior , loads of some elses cigarette buts left in ashtray on outside table , un-clean outside. Broken ironing board not replaced , I had to go and ask for replacement - your in your comfort zone too much u need to pay attention to details like these , especially when there are far cheaper places to stay!!!!!
Great location. Comfortable room. Nice Full English Breakfast. Friendly breakfast lady.
No record of our booking on arrival. This was not handled well. Left us standing without much in the way of communication, reassurance or aplogiy. Family room wet room slow drainage so shower filled up the floor quickly. Woken by ceptic tank emptied before 8am.
Great location Great facilities Friendly staff
Slow breakfast in the morning - appeared short staffed
windows not supplying privacy during daylight. nets required, giving establishment faultless appraisal.
Absolutely perfect for our visit to the area. Lovely, spacious room with huge modern bathroom. Pretty location and very quiet. Helpful, friendly staff. Lovely restaurant.
Only problem was the wifi which only worked in the restaurant. Minor concern.
Location, staff friendliness, fresh breakfast,
Having just walked 26 miles for the second day on the canal tow path my friend and I were looked after by the friendly staff who served us a great meal in our room as meals were not available in the bar due to a recent power cuts. They went the extra mile to make our stay memorable and we would recommend them to anyone looking for accommodation I'm this area.
Good location with a great menu and extensive range of drinks. Staff very friendly and rooms with excellent facilities.
Thought the drinks were a bit too expensive
The Boatyard Inn, is Home from Home, lovely location, made welcome by staff throughout, comfortable and clean facilities, management and staff working as a team.
lovely location & friendly staff
The rooms are spacious and separate from the Inn across the car park and adjacent to the Canal. Walk in shower plus bath and basin - basin looks stylish but I do wonder if it will stand the test of time and travellers use. Breakfast in the coffee lounge all very acceptable and we would return when coming to this area again as very close to the motorway.
This is a suggestion a non slip mat for the walk in shower - the floor does get very slippery.
Staff very helpful and the breakfast was very good
Great location, very convenient
Not able to get a vat invoice
Friendly staff good location
More choice at breakfast, no muesli or fruit etc with cooked breakfast.
Friendly and welcoming staff in a delightful location. The restaurant serves excellent, fresh local dishes.
The room was clean amd comfortable but the bathroom required maintenance due to fittings falling off the wall.
good selection of food in the pub both in the evening and at breakfast pleasant location, relatively close to preston and motorway network
Noise caused by people being locked out of their room, without any consideration for other guests. continued until 11.00pm in the evening Cleaning the pub whilst having breakfast. Hoovering and disinfectant isn't best start to the day
Good all round
1. Mirror in main room not clean 2. Only one set of towels in room had to ask twice for more to come 3. Toilet not clean 4. Toilet seat loose moved when sat on
Lovely setting just next to the canal and breakfast is always a treat.
Cheerful, helpful, hardworking staff. Lovely location beside canal - good for walks/runs morning & evening. VERY comfortable pllows!
Breakfast was disappointing - extremely poor choice of cereal, not enough staff on duty, expected to pay extra for fruit teabags!
I loved the welcome we got on arrival & how the member of staff showed us everything in the room & told us that next time we booked to ring them to make sure we got the disabled room which has a wet room as I am disabled. The bathroom was extremely luxurious & each of the rooms have a walk in shower & bath, perfect for people with disabilities. The location is right next to the canal, a beautiful spot & breakfast is served in a lovely coffee lounge. I will definitely be booking again, it's the best hotel I've ever stayed at in this area & will recommend to friends. The pub which is part of the hotel does amazing meals too so very handy for eating out. All the staff were exceptionally lovely & helpful
The Chalet rooms are different being detached from the main building. So it is more private than staying at a normal hotel and yet directly opposite all the main facilities The room was cosy with a very comfortable large bed and the shower was excellent. The setting is lovely and very quiet at night.
