We found the hotel very relaxing and in an ideal area, they upgraded us to a double standard room from a petite double room. The hotel is only a short walk away from the shopping/tourist locations central to Edinburgh. The staff were very willing to help you with any problems and offered advice on where to eat, although we found numerous places within a short distance. We would definitely come back here to stay.

the location and view of Fife from our very comfortable room. The availability of parking was also a great benefit. An excellent lunch menu and a very competitive price. lack of signage from the car park into the hotel. We wandered round several corners before eventually finding a sign for reception. Otherwise the hotel was excellent

We have stayed on many previous occasions. It is a good hotel in a convenient, but quiet location and has its own parking facility. On this occasion we were checked into a room that was in need of servicing, but this was dealt with by the Duty Manager with speed and apologies. We were upgraded to the No 1 suite ! We did not dine, but have done in the past and know this is a good restaurant in Edinburgh. The introduction of their snug bar is a great addition.

The food. The staff. Way too hot. Couldn't hold open the window in my room (211) without wedging a can of coke under it. Fire escapes and exits poorly indicated.

I was booked into room 208 and I found this room to be excellent for my needs. Bed was very comfortable, excellent shower and great size of bathroom. Room with small table by the window was nice to use for reading and just relaxing. I found the breakfast excellent with a buffet choice outstanding for a small hotel. I mostly selected a cooked breakfast specifying a slightly different choice than offered on the menu. However in respect of the evening meal, I found the menu too restrictive and during my 6 night stay the only item I think which changed was the fish. The soup in my view was poor, I do not like duck, not keen on pork and this left the fish and one other course. I think with a short choice menu you need to offer at least one choice daily of beef, lamb or chicken.

Our room was fit for purpose - it was our wedding night! We throughly enjoyed the luxury of having our breakfast delivered to our room, which had lovely views of the Forth and Dean Village. We found the hotel quiet and relaxing, and would have liked to haved stayed longer. Our bath would not drain, alas

None of the above words apply. It was a revisit of fond memories as my then girlfriend now wife of 32 years lived in the bonham when it was a student residence - happy days. I think the hotel may have upgraded us as the room was bigger than I expected. Bathroom was a bit small but not a major issue

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bonham. The room was very comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful and the Scottish breakfast was excellent. It's only a short walk to the city centre and all the shops. Our only very small complaint was that we didn't find the bed very comfortable.

Very pleasant hotel and staff! Well located. When you pay by credit card, you can choose between two currencies (£ or Euros). It seems the currency change rate is not in favor of the customer if you pay in euros.... I was charged 180 euros for a total bill of 130 £, but when you look at the exchange rate it's actually worth 155 euros....

The rooms were very comfortable with lovely attention to detail. We were greeted by a friendly and knowledgable receptionist and all the staff members could not do enough to help without being overbearing. The location was within a residential area so the noise from outside was minimal and there was free parking at the back which helped to offset the price of the hotel.

We thought to room lived up to expectations and enjoyed the gift left for us for our wedding anniversary. The staff were very helpful with directions. We were disappointed not to get our paid for breakfast on the last morning as even though we were at the dining area by 7 (the opening time) our breakfast wasn't ready by the time our taxi came at 7.45 so we missed out.
