. It is a lovely place to stay, a short walk on to Princes Street and free parking. Very comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. I definitely recommend this hotel for a city break with a little touch of luxury.

Very nice hotel and very nice people.

The roadworks in the city added nearly an extra hour to my journey from Leeds, Yorkshire. For this reason I wouldnt stay there again and wouldnt recommend it unfortunately.

Excellent, large bedroom in a central location. Comfy bed and good selection for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Parking at rear was very steep and slippy after heavy snow. Staff were unwilling to grit slope initially so we had to pay for city centre parking for a day

We paid extra to get a better room and were put in the attic (room 402) the room was far from special. Very very average. We nomally stay in the George, similar price but nicer rooms. If this is what you get at this price, it's back to the George.

The restaurant, the bathroom was OK and the bed mattress was fine. Back room was quiet, therefore relaxing stay!

Old is good when well maintained! This is quite poor quality for a 'boutique' hotel in Top 10! Narrow coridors, lack of imagination in interior decoration, bar not great, sauna terrible!

In our opinion it`s the staff that makes a good Hotel, they can have spa`s and everything else but we like to relate to the staff who on this occasion, all be it just one night, were wonderfully charming and good fun.

- A far walk to the castle around 20 minutes, however was only £5 ride in taxi

Room had a curtain that needed fixed.Bathroom heated but cold. Breakfast was full english which was a bit sparse ie one of everything. Another rasher of bacon might look better on the plate.

We loved the area, gorgeous georgian buildings, there was a fabulous view from our superior room bay window. Its quiet, far enough away from the crowds but only 5 mins walk to the shopping areas. The hotel is stylish & yet retains all of its origional features. Our room was spacious & luxurious. When we return to Edinburgh we would definately stay here again.

The woodwork could do with touching up, there are signs of wear & tear & detracts from what is a gorgeous room.

Very friendly staff, lovely communal spaces, delicious food, amazing view from room 401, quiet but an easy walk into main areas.

Missing some room facilities eg conditioner, moisturiser, bottled water.

Beautifully fitted out boutique hotel in an excellent location. Staff were absolutely superb and couldnt be more helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly reccomend this hotel to others.

Lovely modern/contemporary decor - very cosy. Rooms well equipped and comfortable. Free car parking. Beautiful location and views from bedroom.
