The staff are very friendly and supportive. The breakfast was very good and worth it.

There were problems with the showever pressure. My TV didnt work. No tea and coffee in my room. Little things that matter.

The rooms were very quirky but not the cleanest, we refused to use the shower as it was so dirty, its a lovely old building but could do with a good cleaner and some new beds, despite this we had a good time there.

what a fantastic place. the moment I walked in to the Inn, the feeling was one of warmth and immediate comfort. The décor and lay out of the bar and restaurant area is fantastic. Sofas comfortable chairs, big fires and the quirky, shabby chic design was just fantastic. All I wanted to do was take my bag up to my room and come back down and sit in this lovely room. The food was really good and very good value for money and the service from Richard the owner was attentive and perfect. The room was comfortable and all things worked. Richard has said that now the bar and restaurant are right, he will start redecoration on the rooms. To me it doesn't matter. The room is for sleeping and the most important thing was the fantastic ambiance and comfort downstairs. I was travelling with my 15 year old daughter and she loved it too. Free wifi helped her to pass the time. Great place to stay in a lovely village, close to beautiful countryside and well worth a visit.

quirkyness of the sloping floors which caused much laughing when in the darkness my friend forgot and fell into the t.v.

the decor was rather unusual, we had a map of the Bermuda Islands in our room. the beds were VERY uncomfortable and the breakfast was not great. We had one very over cooked egg and one very undercooked one. glad we only had to try to sleep there. t.v. was very old and people were green !

The Boot Inn is conveniently situated for the Derbyshire area. A good 'round robin' bus service exists giving access to much of the county at a single daily travel rate. The staff were friendly and amenable. Although undergoing refurbishment the main areas of the accommodation were comfortable and restful.

Due to the refurbishments the floor coverings in some places showed signs of heavy wear nevertheless were clean. Discussions with the Proprietor gave advise and assurances that these would all be attended too in due course. Plans to work through the accommodation areas will commence in the new year.

The owner and staff were excellent in that they made every effort to ensure that we were comfortable and the atmosphere was great.We would definitely recommend them to our friends and family.

Excellent quality food and drink for both evening meal and breakfast. The staff are brilliant. Nice quiet location, easy to find and ideal for Burton upon Trent and Derby.

The accommodation is basic and in colder months could put some people off.

The breakfast was reasonable

We were extremely disappointed. No one seemed to know we had booked despite the fact that we rang earlier to book a table for a meal.The room was poor and badly decorated. The mattress was 6 inches smaller than the bedstead as a result the pads masquerading as pillows slipped down onto the floor. None of the bedding matched.. 2 small bath towels were provided, one of which was frayed. We asked for further towels and were given 1 single hand towel . The evening meal was edible although the presentation was not good. The wine list was small and the first 2 bottles we ordered were out of stock, as was the brandy my husband tried order at the end of the meal. There appeared to be no owner/ manager in charge and the staff, although pleasant, seemed uncertain as to procedure .

It was very convenient. Good cooked breakfast.

It was rather basic. The mattress was too short, leaving a gap at the head of the bed. The shower room was very cramped, and the door did not shut. No soundproofing, you could hear every creaking floorboard.

Very frendly staff, good food and clean and comfy rooms. What more do you need?

The whole hotel needs a substantial upgrade.

The quality of furnishings, decor, food and service was poor.

This place is being gradually renovated from a grotty drinking den into a pub with good food, so one has to be patient with the young owner who cannot afford to improve everything at once. The food was quite excellent and very good value. The bar and eating areas are newly decorated with an interesting design. The staff were very attentive, but the barman needs wising up about english drinking habits, and not putting red wine in the cooler !

The bedrooms are in need of improvements like new sheets, towels and decor. The tea making facilities need smartening up. I suspect that bedroom number 5 will be cold in winter as there is no heating in the bathroom. The owner needs to be given time to sort things out, but this place needs checking every 6 months for progress because the sleeping facilities are not yet up to standard. One does not want to crucify the place as it has potential, and is the only accommodation in Repton, which has a large private school with few other facilities in the town.

The location was central. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The bedroom (singl)e was very basic. . There were too few pillows. The only place to put the kettle was on the floor. There was a distinct lack of furniture in the room.There was no where to put my clothes and the bed was too far away from the light and the door. It felt as though I was crammed in the corner of the room .

We had come down to a race meeting at Donnington Park. We found the Boot Inn a very pleasant place to stay with friendly staff, a comfortable room and good food and beer. Prices were very reasonable, and if we come down to the race meeting next year will book there again.
