The Boundary  

Attention to detail was excellent & decor fab. Breakfast was quality & the room was modern & had all facilities required. Both staff really friendly & made to feel welcome :-)

No bar...if want a drink beforehand need to take your own & likewise coming back later.

Before travelling I received a phone call asking what time I would be arriving. The owners son showed us to our room and was pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and Steve even offered to go and buy me rye bread as I can't eat wheat bread.. These little touches make the boundary a good hotel, as they go out of their way to make your stay a pleasurable experience. The room was clean, warm (maybe to warm) with excellent facilities. I would definitely advise other travellers to stay at the boundary, I have travelled the world and stayed in 5* hotels and I have to say this guest house matched or surpassed the larger hotels I have stayed at.... Thank you for making our weekend

The room was lovely. the bed v comfortable, and lovely bathroom. Nice breakfast. Nicely decorated establishment. Friendly owner and serving lady (Chinese). Good location for Windermere and Bowness.

No Sky subscription. Service slow at breakfast then rushed to get out by 11.

Comfortable room! We stayed in McLaren. Comfy bed and pillows, room feels warm and homely. We also liked the toiletries that were provided. Breakfast was tasty, peached eggs cooked to perfection. Friendliness of the owner, on our arrival we were taken to the room and showed the basics. Nice touch.

There were issues with the shower, it wouldn't work . Had to be reset twice by the owner, this was very inconvenient, as you need to dress up again and to go to get the owner. No hot water in the morning to have a shower, that was at 9 o’clock, waited for twenty minutes nothing happened. Apparently this was due to demand when I mentioned it during the check out ? The shower screen had detached seal rubber and was just hanging out. Could have done with a bath mat when you step out of the shower/bath rather than directly step on tiles ,as much for the safety as for the comfort .

Very comfortable stay and great breakfast.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating even though we arranged an early check-in (11am) but got there even earlier. The room was really nice with loads of space and a full length mirror which my partner appreciated for getting ready. The breakfast was spot on with real British Cumberland sausages and quality bacon.

The shower wouldn't work but as we had 2 in the room it wasn't a big issue and we didn't even ask to get it sorted.

Excellent location with in walking distance of everything you need. Lovely decoration in the rooms , very comfortable and friendly atmosphere !

The Boundary was a lovely boutique B and B, excellent location, lovely spacious room and extremely comfortable bed! Great breakfast in the morning and overall a great place to stay and use as a base for seeing the beautiful Lake District! Checked in early which was unexpected so that was very generous of Steve to let us do that.

The breakfast room was very warm in the morning the windows had to be opened so need to find a good temperature for that and the breakfast service a little slow but again it was good food so worth the wait.

Lovely boutique experience. Spotlessly clean with lovely furnishings and comfy bed. Fresh milk in your own fridge was very nice and breakfast worth eturning for..

Comfort and boutique style.

This is a hassle free place to stay very close to Lake Windermere with easy access to the mountains. Steve makes a great host and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very comfortable, with a fab bathroom and everything is spotless. Would stay again!!

Good powerful shower, bed was large and comfy. Breakfast was excellent.

Coffee making facilities were poor, overall probably more like 4 star than 5 star. Room was really warm, had to leave windows open throughout the night.

Luxurious and spacious accommodation. Delicious breakfast food. Good location for visiting Windermere and Bowness. Friendly and helpful hosts.

Beautifully themed rooms with fabulous bathrooms. Breakfast very good. Excellent location between Bowness and Windermere.

I will book direct next time- its cheaper!

From the moment we arrived to the time we left our stay was everything we had hoped for. The staff were kind and courteous, assisting in any way they could. The food was of a very high quality and the room was fabulous. This was our second stay at the hotel and Im sure there will be a third and fourth in the future.

We liked the welcome when we arrived at the Boundary, we found Steve the owner very pleasant, easy going, and helpful, we were home from home and had a very relaxing time. Definately stay there again and highly recommend The Boundary.

Breakfast was lovely you can't fault that. The over all appearance style was just what we were looking for.

First impressions were excellent. Really quirky designer bedroom, but on closer look the room had not been dusted for days by the look of it or the obvious parts been. Tea and sugar storage containers had a thick layer of dust on the cream sofa had thick black hairs on(we don't have black hair). But it was still a pleasant room. Road traffic noise is a big problem here if you stay anywhere along this road this will be the same. Choose a room facing the back.
