Me and my friends had our weekend ruined by staying at this hotel. The room was poor, the staff were very rude and the breakfast was terrible will not stay here again and won't recommend.
clean sheets plenty of hot water
lift not working shower door falling off cheap coffee
I did not like anything in the hotel. It was discussting . Very bad smell. I would never go back to this place.
Lift not working. Too many stairs. Lack of parking space. Broke blind. No sink plug. Water too hot. My other family had a disgusting room. Like a hostel. Broken shower, bad smell.
Value for money Great location Themed hotel Bed and breakfast
Some staff were not helpful Not enough space Basic facilities TV didn't work very well, no remote
The shower did not work The room was very small for 3 people The room was dirty and smelled bad Compared to the room my mother, nephew and niece were in ours was shocking. Very overpriced given the quality of everything. Lift not working and my mother struggles with stairs. Parking was limited.
Loved the music posters and memorabilia. Location very good, a short walk to the beach and centre. rooms spacious. Beds comfy. Staff very pleasant but seemed like the same fellow doing everything!
Breakfast uninspiring with only one member of staff serving everyone, so bit slow going. Coffee was instant, and I did expect filter coffee! Showers didn't work properly in our rooms, and the curtains fell down in the family room ! Lift wasn't working so walking up to 3rd floor was pretty tiring for me (granma!)
Loved all the memorabilia, rooms were good. Comfortable beds and clean linen slept well. Two minute park to the back of the BIC centre so perfect location for us and just a short walk down the hill to the town.
Tea and milk not put in rooms each. Day
great location, friendly staff.
rooms are a little dated however reflected in the price of the stay.
Not a clean hotel
We was expecting this hotel to be terrible but actually our room was fine. Beds were comfortable enough and the room was clean. The cleaner tidied our room the days we was there. The staff we did see were friendly although we didn't eat or drink in the hotel. Location is excellent and the price was good for the middle of summer.
The bathroom wasn't the best. A bit of mold in the corner plus it was quite annoying not having anywhere to put your toiletries once in the shower (which was quite small anyway) however for a short stay it wasn't a huge deal.
Me and my son had an overnight stay at the Beacon. Twin room was suitable for an overnight stay and breakfast was reasonable. I enjoyed all the music and rock stars memorabilia. Loved it was so close to the beach didn't realise when we were booking
Not enough hanging facilities in the bathroom or glass for toothbrush and paste.
Toilet, toilet seat broken,it's bit adventure to go toilet.overall cleaning not good standard.but not poor.
Location was good.
There was a hen party in the basement of the hotel!! Even the windows of our bedroom were shaking because of the music!! We had such an awful night because of it!!
All music pics staff friendly and beds were so comfy
Bathroom was bit worse for ware shower was bit naff loo sit keep movin cleaner kept takin are bath towels not puttin Anough back lol
Very friendly staff. Great music memorabilia from the area. Close to the beach and city center.
The hotel is no longer in its prime... shabby, a bit unclean. It is also quite a hike up from the beach and town so if you are with less a less able travelers, this is not the place for you.
I was travelling with elder parents and we were on top floor and the lift was not working. A lot of stairs for them to climb
the location was good
the unhelpful attitude of reception staff.were very unhelpful.when read previous reviews it sounded very good & friendly & clean.none of which were remotely true the room allocation was above a disco we asked how long music went on & the reply we got was 1 2 3 hours who knows so live with it. we have booked several times with you but this has dented our confidence in youre hotel selections very disappointed couple a very special weekend dampened by hotel we travelled from Darlington to be greatly disappointed i certainly would;nt recommend this hotel to anyone
The staff were friendly and very helpful and accommodating, hot shower, plenty of towels. Generous breakfast. It was close to the seafront/beach. Within walking distance to all the shops.
On arrival the staff were very unorganised and had other peoples luggage in our room, once given our room key we found dirt within the bedsheets, there was no TV control and the flush in the bathroom didn't work properly! We had to be up early both mornings as were told that the hotel was quite when we booked, unfortunately we were woken up in the early hours of the morning by the staff having conversations outside our room and loud guests who were at a party downstairs. When complaining about our stay the man on reception was not concerned and laughed instead of trying to sort the situation! My friends and I paid a large amount of money to stay here and it was not worth it, would not recommend to anyone
I did not feel it was that clean. It needed a freshen up.
Services not bad
Pull out bed broken! No furniture! Only 1 chair?
Shower was rubbish
The hotel is in an excellent position, near to beach and town centre, although it is a climb up from both to the hotel (hence we could have done with the lift). Our room did have a sea view.
The hotel is rather tired and run down although it was cheap enough. The lift did not work! There was very few staff apparent, only occasionally was I aware of two on the premises at any one time. Staff only visited the room once and then only made the bed! The bins were never emptied and we had to ask for more coffee, milks etc. and towels, although we were offered them once. The room was not cleaned nor the cups and saucers washed. The breakfast was good until Thursday when it came with no egg although when asked one was provided and the beans, tomato and mushroom were nearly cold as they were on Friday, Saturday was good again. Although people were staying on different tariffs which entitled them to various levels of service (i.e. contractors) it was confirmed by someone I took to be the owner that the tariff we were on entitled us to a cooked breakfast and room cleaning service. The hotel opposite has been acquired for re-development and will soon become a building site. Would we stay again? No!
very poor cleanliness
