Score from 69 reviews Superb
Friendly staff, very good food served in the evenings and location. Excellent facilities in the en suite bathroom.
Cleaning of bedroom etc could have been better. Bathroom did not seem to have been touched on one day but this did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
GOOD PRICE AND STAFF AND HOTEL EXCELLENT
The Bower Inn was quite a find! Superbly located for access to the motorway, and yet feeling as though in the countryside. The room was extremely comfortable & I lacked for nothing. There were lots of little features like the provision of DVD player & a mobile magnifying mirror in the bathroom which made all the difference. The pub was busy the night I stayed - I usually avoid pubs on account of noise - but I can honestly say it didn't bother me, despite being above the main restaurant area. The staff were very solicitous for my wellbeing, offering to move me if I found it too noisy. And the meal was superb...quite the best duck I've had in years! The veg were done to perfection too.
The Bower Inn is hard to fault. I consider £73pn quite high for pub accommodation, and the bed was too soft for my liking but none-the-less I consider this some of the best accommodation I have found.
We arrived travel-weary after a long and tiring journey, and were greeted with such a friendly welcome, our journey was soon forgotten about. We had called ahead to order dinner, as we were arriving much later than planned, and were worried the kitchen would have closed. Within minutes of our arrival the tastiest burgers were served to us, along with a very refreshing glass of cider! After dinner we were shown to our room, which was lovely! Great size, beautiful décor, fantastic, comfortable bed, and a super rain shower in the well-equipped bathroom. Breakfast was delicious too. Cooked to order by the fabulous Nick – who deserves a special mention for making us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for him throughout our entire stay; thanks Nick! We would definitely stay here again, and recommend The Bower Inn to all. A true gem.
There's nothing to dislike about this place!
The warmth of our reception which continued until our departure which sadly was the next day. Would certainly stay again and would recommend to anyone heading to Somerset
Decor of public and bedrooms, bath robes provided breakfast very nice, coffee stewed but very helpful waitress made me a fresh cafetiere. When asked for one pudding and two spoons at dinner it was served very prettily on two plates, much appreciated.
Chicken breast for dinner very tough and slightly burnt. No lightbulb in bedside lamp. Building site next door, unfortunately unavoidable I understand so would come back.
Helpful staff relaxed family oriented atmosphere. Food delicious.
Not a problem for us, but if you don't like dogs, these gentle obedient dogs moving amongst guests may not be your cup of tea.
This was a great stay. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we felt very much at home. The food in the restaurant was excellent - I particularly liked the tempura vegetable starter. The room was great, with a very comfortable bed. I'd definitely stay here again.
There was building work going on, although it wasn't at all intrusive. Personally, I found the duvet too hot for a comfortable sleep, but then that seems to be true in most hotels these days. There were no significant negative factors at all.
Spacious clean room. Nice bathroom. Good evening meal. Easy to find from motorway. Quiet. Friendly efficient staff. Expansion plans.
Soft bed. Mediocre breakfast (no menu, small choice, small "full English").
On one of there busiest nights we arrived late wanting food. They went out of the way to accommodate our needs
Staff exceptionally friendly. A great stop off on way to south coast
Relaxed atmosphere Good food Owners very welcoming Staff friendly
Staff and owner made us feel and home and they were all very genuine. Felt like you were drinking inside someone's living room. I would definitely recommend. Me and Laura will be back in the near future..x
Couldn't open the room window.
Friendly efficient staff, good food, well presented room
On arrival it had not been hovered along skirting boards there were crumbs and hair and dust behind the before and on top of bathroom cupboards.
The young waiter calling me Miss
Very friendly. Good value for money. Were given the Bridal Room !! Popular restaurant.
room was lovely. soft bed and very clean. Nice breakfast
Friendly staff, very good breakfast
cobwebs in bedroom
The evening meal was superb, the real ale was kept well and the service was very friendly.
It was difficult to work in my room due to lack of desk and appropriate chair. I had to use an armchair and table which I managed to do but wasn't easy.
The best hotel in Bridgwater. Great food, staff and rooms
The staff made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious and room very welcoming. We will definitely visit again.
Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent restaurant
As we were attending a party at the hotel staying was ideal. Room standard was good. Attractive country cottage gardens. Friendly staff.
A couple of room maintenance issues. Breakfast was a little lacking. The full English was somewhat on the small side.
The " slipper bath " and the excellent service from all the staff.
The car park could be better. But as there are some ground works in progress,it was no big deal.
The atmosphere and the food The warm welcome, the staff
