I loved the food and the setting is lovely
The decor in the rooms is a bit old fashioned and dated.
Nice comfortable king size bed with a good ensuite, staff very friendly and helpful.A quiet town with not a lot of options for eating out so the Brantwood was ideal as it had a good restaurant and bar
everything was good
Friendly staff, good food, clean and a good location.
Room and corridors a bit scruffy and in need of a bit of a refurb.
Nice dining room & conservatory.
Menu & wine a bit pricey. Bar dingy & in need of redecoration.Bathroom very small, light hanging down from ceiling, ceramic beaker dirty. Bedroom small & in need of some redecoration. TV picture kept breaking up so couldn't watch it.
An excellent good old fashioned breakfast served by a pleasant member of staff
Location ans ease of access to main roads
Poor choice for breakfast, small portions, only 1hr for breakfast
Very good meal and it has a comfortable, cosy bar.
Needs a bit of maintenance
Downstairs in hotel and outside seating area nice ,
Bedroom decor dated.
We stayed on route to Scotland and had a beautiful, comfortable room. We we're well looked after, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent.
Gorgeous, quaint, well priced little gem in a great location. The staff couldn't do enough for us and we felt very welcome. A brilliant place!
Comfy bed, peace & quiet
Room paintwork a bit tired, toilet didn't always flush very well. Water ran cold intermittently during shower.
Lovely b/b feature hotel with fantastic conservatory food fantastic very friendly and very cosy establishment good pub up the road as well close to penrith and ulswater down the road
Nothing in particular
The staff were very courteous and helpful; the food was excellent
The bedroom was rather small though the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom window didn't have much of a view.
Staff didn't wait up to check me in even though I called to say exactly when I would be checking in. No staff on call, owner had to let me in. Room had thread bare carpet, soft mattress and had not been renovated since the late 70s. Then charged £100 for the privilege, i would have paid 30-40 for the room given it's condition. Breakfast was poor one rather if bacon n one sausage, pathetic IMO they clearly made £95 on my stay, wouldn't ever go back.
Small rooms and bathroom
this place is in middle of refurb which it does need, however this did not take away from the charm of the place. It is in a little village, has a lovely little garden, where we could watch chickens running around with their chicks, hear the birdsong, Staff were lovely, as was food in restaurant. we intend to return. Highly recommend.
As I say, rooms need a bit of attention to decor etc.
Good location - in quiet village but close to M6. Nice relaxed atmosphere and traditional bar.
Nothing of note.
Staff were friendly, and the food was good. The room was well-equipped. The countryside round about is lovely. The public areas were very nice.
The room urgently needed refurbishment. I was informed that there is a current programme of works, and the refurbishment of the room is in the schedule.
Comfortable bed, good menu, warm friendly atmosphere
no access to wifi in room
Staff couldn't do enough, setting- rustic but modern, food fabulous!
Renovating didn't bother us because we had an early start anyway but perhaps would have otherwise.
Always a warm welcome and friendly, chatty staff.
Having to leave! :)
The location and the very helpful staff
The decor and bedrooms looked a bit "tired"
Good position in nice village.
Poss doggy smell downstairs
Very helpful and friendly team
Major problems with water flow of shower in Room 6 Stopped for 4 mins in mid flow
Rather tired look about it
