Really warm and big rooms. Appreciated the heating being on as it was very cold and the hot water for the shower. Also nice and quiet. They did deal with a broken toilet handle and fixed it for us. We stopped in a block behind the actual hotel building which surprised us as we thought we would stay in the building advertised on the website. Room Smelt very fusty, needed redecorating. Toilet handle dropped off due to age ( but they did repair it - however it was old and plastic so mot a surprise it dropped off) Shower head bracket was not attached to wall so every time moved shower head it rotated round. Towels had holes in them and hairs in bath. Cheap, cheerful and ok for a budget stay but definitely no frills.

Excellent Value for Money and Location. I stayed at the brecon hotel and loved it. I am a contractor and it was perfect for what i needed a big, warm, clean and quite room with free Internet! Its conveniently placed with a straight route into the sheffield city centre and takes only 10 mins. The town centre is only down the road a 5 min walk which is great as i like getting out and it is a great walk/ good restaurants close by. Loved the en-suite with bath and shower. The annex is where i stayed-would highly recommend staying there as it is set back from the main road. I will be staying at The Brecon long term and recommend it to everyone especially if you are looking for a budget hotel.

I booked this hotel for work purposes; I am a contractor and just needed a room-only place to stay. I didn’t require any breakfast just a room which ended up saving me a bit of money. I would say the Brecon is a great place to stay if you require room only accommodation; it’s nice, quiet, warm and clean with no quarrels when it comes to parking. If I’m in Rotherham again I will definitely book here. It’s been an excellent budget hotel and as a contractor I would highly recommend this hotel.

The location of the hotel was good, being near the town centre. I only meet one member of staff who was very friendly. When it said the tariff did not include breakfast i thought this meant I would pay at the time. It turned out there was no breakfast available at all. I was directed to the local Tesco which "Would have all I needed" I stayed two nights and no staff came to service the room. There was no way of opening a window in the room on the second night I felt it became so stuffy and could not sleep. I left the hotel at 3am to continue my journey. Having paid on arrival I dropped the key off in a box provided on the outside of the front door. So I only saw the one member of staff,on checking in, who was available to take my money.

The person of reception was not friendly, I paid 50 € for a motel room but I was paying for a hotel and it was too far away of the town center (so it didn’t worth what it cost)

Clean enough room, large tv with dvd player. I wasnt told at the time of booking that the hotel was closed and that I would be staying in the annex at the back. This actually wasnt too bad, however the furniture was extremely old fashioned although clean enough. The thing that bothered me was that there was no kitchen or restautant so I had to find breakfast elsewhere, and I wasnt informed of this at the time of booking. The owner called me on the day of check in too to find out what tme I was arriving, and again I wasnt told of the lack of kitchen facilities. This is not acceptable in my opinion and I will not be staing there again.

It was very reasonably priced and conveniently located close to relatives we were visiting. It is in the process of re-furbishment and so no dining room was available.

It served its purpose as a bed for the night. The main hotel was covered in scaffolding and the annex where we stayed was like a homeless hostel based in the 1950'S.

On arrival and after checking in I was told that the hotel was closed for refurbishment and the room was in an annexe at the back, the restaurant and bar also closed none of which was mentioned on booking.com. The towels and sheets looked used, the shower only dribbled out and there was no hot water when I went to wash.

The one member of staff I met at the door seemed friendly There was no breakfast/restaurant. Fortunatly, I read this from other comments, but the hotel did not detail this. The rooms are tired and need updating, and with single pane windows, it was very easy to here anyone outside. The Internet also didn't work.

The advert showed the hotel yet we stayed in a block at the rear completely isolated. We had intended on going down for dinner and a drink in the bar but this was not possible having to walk round to the hotel in the cold. The bathroom was not cleaned to a professional standard, the pillows were like rocks and the TV was the size of an Ipad. The water takes forever to fill a bath and the shower is hardly a power shower - very basic to say the least. From 1am onwards the couple came in down stairs very loud and argued shouting untill 3am. At 4am another guest arrived the front door springs shut, the landing door is also noisy then we had them trying to get into their room. We left in the morning completely exhausted and would never return in fact it is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

There were no staff on duty. The member of staff we dealt with on arrival was not in any form of work attire. I wasn't aware the hotel was under refurbishment until we arrived to also find out there were no meal facilities. The room was very basic in furniture and decor. The television equipment in the room was faulty, this resulted in an accident which ended up with damage to the glass panel the television was resting on which I was them charged to replace which seemed to be unfair considering the situation. On checking out the hotel there were no staff on duty to speak to about the faulty equipment.

Quiet room Hotel was under renovation, so no services available. Rooms was in a complex behind the hotel - not sure whether this is usually part of the hotel or not. This complex seemed to have been hastily prepared and poorly finished. The shower was pathetic - not a shower at all.

Nothing!! No breakfast as advertised & paid for as the kitchen is apparently being refurbished!! Room was dirty, smelt of damp & was stupidly hot. I especially did not like being charged £150 for apparently smoking in the room when neither me nor my partner smoke. Unhelpful & uncooperative reception staff & a manager that does not speak to customers are making this problem impossible to resolve! This hotel is being run by some very deceitful people!
