Warm welcome, warm room, and good evening meal selection available. We had two small dogs with us - no problem at all.
A very small point - the WiFi was slow, but that may be to do with the remote location !
Tired decor Poor cooked breakfast Over priced
Breakfast was good Staff were friendly
I booked a family room for me and 3 of my friends yet the little things like enough towels were not prepared; lady at reception said she thought only 2 people were staying, dust on top of wardrobe, noise disturbing sleep due to event downstairs
Lovely clean room and a gigantic bed. Good bar and atmosphere. Scenery nearby is fabulous. Food was ok.
Can't think of anything.
Food Price room noise
The shower was fabulous, loads of hot water and was all new and very clean. The bed was big and comfy, spotless linen, spare pillows and a great view from the window overlooking the river and the bridge. Room tray has a good selection of hot drinks, everything was very clean and the furniture looked new. It was a small room but we didn't find that a problem. The breakfast was well prepared, we didn't try the full English but our poached eggs were perfect and a good selection of cereals. Evening meals are served in the bar or in the quieter dining room. Food was reasonable, I've had better but not bad for pub grub if a bit pricey.
This was exactly what we expected. A good country inn with comfortable rooms and good food in the bar. Above and beyond: we had asked for a twin room for our kids and were given two rooms with an adjoining bathroom, which was perfect!
Nice breakfast, country pub atmosphere
Basic rooms not as pictured on the Internet, maybe we got the room that hadn't been modernised. Over priced for what we got. Think you might have to be a regular to get served at the bar.
The nearby campsite gives the hotel a lot more visitors than its position would warrant. However lakes, moors, streams and sea are all just a few minutes away. Food is very good although my breakfast order
The Inn atmosphere. Lively pub with good food
Would have liked more info on different walks inn the area
I believe it is our ninth visit to the Bridge and we have stayed in other places nearby but it is the bridge that we now seem to have made our second home ! Always a friendly welcome, staff always helpful and the food and drink are both superb all this and a fantastic location ideal for Wastwater and Scafell beautiful and not yet ruined by being to touristy if thats a word I would strongly recommend the bridge to anyone and have.
Clean professionally run hotel Breakfast excellent Large comfortable bed Immaculately clean bedroom and bathroom Lovely location
Due to a very painful neck condition I could have done with an armchair in the bedroom but that is probably peculiar to me.
Breakfast made to order, hot food and quality products. Location good for lakes walks. Comfortable bed. Wifi free throughout hotel, if a little temperamental. Good choice of real ales in bar.
Booked table for meal at restaurant. We were shown to our table. Expected menus and waitress service. After a while realised menus needed collecting and had to order at the bar. This wasn't clear to us, and we didn't see the sign in the room to tell us this until later. Wouldn't have taken much for the girl who took us to tabke to telk us this. Food that arrived was very nice.
Room was clean
Everything else. On arrival we waited in reception for staff for 20 minutes until one finally arrived with an attitude problem. She couldn't crack a smile if there was a comedians convention in the hotel. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bar staff were obnoxious, unfriendly and were again obviously not paid enough to smile. Sat waiting for breakfast again for around 20 mins before I had to take things into my own hands and actually had to enter the kitchen to ask if we could get served, the member of staff finally come to the table and was extremely rude and unhelpful. The sausages had as much flavour as a bottle of water and the tea was cold. I didn't dare ask her to change it. On leaving, we waited in reception stood at desk waiting to check out whilst the bar manager thought counting the till receipts was more important so after waiting for ten mins whilst he tallied his loot he finally decided to check us out only after I abruptly had to ask him. Not a word was spoken apart from handing me the receipt. We could not believe the customer service skills or lack of them. We were treated disgustingly and rudely by all staff and will never step foot in there again in our lifetimes. Avoid this place if you deserve to be treated like a customer should.
Our 4 poster room was great, evening meal lovely and as for the breakfast...wow! Unbelievable quality and quantity of food.
The bar needs to be bigger and more staff on hand.
Bar and restaurant all excellent, cheerful, food nice, service good
Would have liked a bigger and more comfortable lounge area for residents. The existing room was small and badly lit, and the only place to sit in the evening, as there was no chair in my bedroom.
brilliant place to stay loved it
THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE STAFF ALL VERY FRIENDLY
THE DECOR OF THE ROOM WAS SLIGHTLY DATED
Old style Cumbrian pub with great atmosphere. Rooms are plush and tea making facilities are there to use.breakfast is excellent and choice of dishes, served by staff who are so helpful And cannot do enough for their guests.you must try the beer and food in the evening. We will go there again.
We could not find any thing we did not like.
Well placed in the region Old world atmosphere Excellent breakfast
Very hot weather on the day we arrived and the region was crowded like I had never seen it before. Not a good day for the evening restaurant
Friendly staff, very good food served quickly, nice room, relaxed atmosphere.
Very friendly staff.
Fantastic location Great WIFI Good food Good bar
Thin walls Creaky floor boards Noise from other guests at night/through the night.
Food other than breakfast could be better
