Excellent,

“ The hospitality was excellent, including for our 2 dogs who were welcomed in the bar area with treats. The bar had a real fire and the food was good and reasonably priced ... it was a lovely 2 day break. ”

The room was beautiful and the staff were very friendly. The meal we had there was delicious, as was the breakfast provided for us the next day. This was the second but definitely not last time we stayed here-it really is wonderful!

Very handy for business at Sellafield, price reflects this Over priced for the facilities, stated Superior Room, room 20 was certainly not superior, food good, but accomodation at £95 was really overpriced.

The Bridge Inn is olde-worldly and extremely comfortable. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and efficient. The food served in the cosy bar/restaurant was superb and excellent value for money. A great choice of local and guest beers and very convivial atmosphere. Our first visit but certainly not our last. A pleasure to stay at the Bridge Inn. N/A

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was small but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay and both the room and en suite were very clean. There was a friendly "buzz" in the bar area, which is obviously popular for meals. The location, by a river, is quite attractive and I think this could be a good base for walkers who are looking for a country pub with rooms rather than a hotel. The exterior didn't make a good impression on arrival - the frontage is a bit cluttered with signs and the back as approached from the rear car park looks rather shabby. The thing I really didn't like was the all- pervading smell of cooking oil or something. The food here is a big selling point but I was disappointed (perhaps just unlucky) with overcooked, tough lamb chops served on a barely warm plate. Our room was above the bar and quite loud conversations could be heard till 10.30 pm - not so good if you want an early night. The toilet flushing system in the en suite is very noisy. The staff are so pleasant that I'm sorry I can't be more positive. It could well suit other people very well but, based on our own (admittedly limited) experience of The Bridge I have to speak as I find.

Great location minutes away from Wasdale Wastwater and The Pikes, outdanding surroundings. I booked a double room with a double bed and we end up in a double room with a joined twin bed, however we have been charged for the double room. Furthermore Maitre d'Hotel has been rather reserved and cold whilst calling and asking for directions to get there. It has been snowing badly the night before and most of the roads were blocked and unaccessible. However her attitude changed on the very last day before departure, she finally managed to smile whilst talking to us. I do believe that good atitude and mostly a smile can make a difference and make one feel welcomed.

The Inn was immediately welcoming, a lovely old building in a beautiful setting. Our room was large, well equipped, recently decorated and with a beautiful view. The attitude and genuine friendliness of the new owners contributed to a very enjoyable stay. Food in the bar was outstanding and the beer excellent. A country Inn for the owners to be proud of. Nothing. Everything was exactly right!
