The Courie Inn, hotel in Killin

Located 22 miles from Castle Menzies, The Courie Inn offers 4-star accommodations in Killin and features a restaurant, a bar and water sports facilities.

Beautiful area of Scotland, surrounded by mountains. Saw many hikers enjoying their time here. Lovely little inn with a nice size room, comfortable bed and good shower. Bonus chocolates in room were a nice touch. Downstairs is a lovely pub full of folk enjoying life, but quieted down nicely as the evening went on. We booked dinner at their restaurant too and it was very good, and hopping! Included breakfast which was well prepared and kindly served.

We liked the setting of the lodge with views of the surrounding hills. Killin is a lovely riverside village with the famed Falls of Dochart, a regular feature on calendars. It is rural but gives easy road access to many areas of Scotland from Oban, Fort William, Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perthshire not to mention the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park

    Beautiful scenery, quiet location.

Beautiful scenery, quiet location. The falls of Dochart are stunning. Well worth a visit to see them. There is also a golf course in Killin with stunning views of the surrounding area. Tucked away in the woods of Killin across from the cemetery you will find the ruins of Finlarig Castle which dates back to 11th century, also well worth a visit.

We stay here often, as its dog friendly and have always found it a nice place to stay, with friendly staff. Any problems, you only need to ask. Meals are good and fairly priced, as are the prices at the bar. Looking forward to our next stay.

It is situated in an area where it is within travelling distance to Loch Lomond. Oban, Glen Coe and Fort William al places we like to visit. We ate dinner at The Luib Hotel on our arrival and it was excellent. We visited several other hotels and cafes and they were all good establishments. The staff at The Luid are always ready to answer any questions we had regarding places to visit. They are very helpful and the atmosphere they create in the lounge is unbeatable.

Perfect location in town. Lovely building with bags of atmosphere. Open fire in the restaurant and an unexpectedly good menu. Previous trips to Scotland have been disappointing with regard to food. Very impressed with the food here. We had Tempura Cauliflower and Haggis balls to start. All delicious and Venison casserole for our main course. The sticky toffee pudding was the best we have ever eaten. Served with a good quality ice cream. The coffee shop attached to the hotel was also good.

Location in Killin was excellent, pubs, restaurants and shops very close by, the building is older and it is furnished and decorated in a very local country house style which works very well. The owners are very friendly and full of local knowledge for walks and local points of interest. The breakfasts were stunning, all locally sourced produce and the owner (sorry I forgot your name , but remembered that you were Swiss!!) Makes all her own breads, jams and yogurt, amazing 🤩

One of the best B & Bs I’ve stayed at. Monica and Roman offer a welcoming and generous hospitality, and there’s a very good feel about the place. The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean, and comfortable, and the breakfasts are superb with plenty of options to choose from. The house is well situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and walks along the banks of Loch Tay. We used Dall Lodge County House as a base for a fishing trip, and will be back again.

We had a lovely stay at Capercaillie! It is located at the edge of Killin in a nice and quiet area (only a 25-min walk to the Falls of Dochart). The house has a lot bigger than we expected and spotless. The lounge was comfy and very modern, and the kitchen was really well-kitted out with everything you could need. The master bedroom had a huge en-suite and it all worked perfectly! Maybe a little expensive, but a lovely place to stay.

Tastefully decorated, calming, peaceful (despite being beside the main road!), beautiful views from the dining room and Room 7. Great to chat to the owners, and best scrambled egg and tomato breakfast I’ve had in any kind of hotel or guest house. No wifi and very poor mobile reception was….. amazing! I knew it would be like this in advance and it added to the feeling of calm.

Almost 500 year old building with very intresting atmosphere and nice surrounding. We stayed one night on our way from Skye to Edinburgh. It was a plus that you just stop next to the road and park your car with Option of dinner and breakfast. Bar inside the hotel. The room was very clean.
