Bar meals little pricey even for central Lakes, but quality good
Pub ambience. High quality walking at all levels.Weather was superb.Staff all v good and friendly
Couldn't fault the location, room or price. Room 5 was cosy and quiet. Would highly recommend and return!
The noisy neighbour, who must have come in and out of his room, slamming the door at least 7 times in half an hour, but that's the luck of the draw ! Also the constant humming from what I assume was an extractor fan or something, outside.
The room and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. The bars were proper old pub, rather than a cold wine bar type place. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The evening meal was first class,as was the breakfast.
Nothing not to like really. Bed too firm for me but that is just my opinion.
Beautiful location. Cosy and welcoming inn. Staff friendly and food excellent. Definitely stay again.
My only comment would be that there was a generator or air con unit outside our room that hummed all night, as a light sleeper it disturbed me. My partner was not troubled by the noise.
The place and our room was lovely. The staff made us feel welcome, the food and service was very good.
food and dated dinning room

The Ale Great staff Location cleanliness of room

Location and ambience
The place was overcrowded especially in the evening . The dining room was too packed so we went to a nearby pub for our evening meal.
Excellent location - we did not use the car for our stay because of the good walks from the door.
Rooms a bit small but this is a very old pub

The Pub could do with a bit of upgrading without losing its atmosphere. Bed a bit hard.
Location, friendliness of staff, quality of food and good variety of real ales in the bar
The staff, accommodation, and food excellent and the inn is perfectly situated for gentle or strenuous walking. Weather was perfect too during our stay.
