Tenby has a multi-faceted charm and proudly plays its role as the jewel in the Pembrokeshire crown. Its appeal extends through every season and its attractions welcome every age group. Whether you seek peace and quiet, sun on the beaches, fun in the water, a slice of history, a shopping spree or an evening sampling pubs and restaurants, Tenby has it all.
The former fort and port delights in its 20th century occupation of tempting and treating its visitors, who come from all over the world, and leave with much more than just a sense of well-being and a suntan! For it is the images of Tenby that call its friends back time and time again: the morning sun sparkling on a high tide in the busy harbour, the wide blue sweep of Carmarthen Bay, the warm welcome in the many little shops and eating places and the sense of history that is all around.
One of the town's most famous sons, artist Augustus John described Tenby as "so restful, so colourful and so unspoilt." While no-one would deny that Tenby bears the trappings of the holiday trade, from which it has made its living for nearly 2 centuries, the overwhelming feel is of natural beauty and the keen conservation sense of its guardians.
Now established as the top floral resort of Wales, Tenby's pretty gardens, flower displays and hanging baskets are carefully tended.
In this Little England Beyond Wales there is always a welcome for the visitor, whether they call in for a day, or stay for a longer break.
