Definately unhappy about breakfast costing a further £12.50 on top of £90 room charge, was already into the juice and cornflakes before realisation that my poached egg was going to be expensive. So petulantly went for the artery shrinking big breakfast to simply get value for money. Again rather disappointed.
Professionally friendly, convenience of location and cleanliness were certainly things I sort of expected, Brooklands provided these but added no 'wow' element, nowhere more so than in the catering which was a bit underwhelming both in choice and taste. I chose 'pea soup with smoked bacon' hoping for a silky smooth verdant green pool with lumps of smoky panchetta bobbed on its surface with maybe a swirl of olive oil for the £5ish asking price, but the reality was a green 'bitty' super heated bowl with sharp mini Dorito shaped dark brown( or over cooked) shards sprinkled on top. Not bad exactly, but when my 'Duck breast with garlic mash and roasted beetroot' (sounded delicious) Arrived, my hopes were dashed again as my overdone rubber duck pretty much hid the tablespoon of garlic mash and the 3 dices of beetroot.(£18ish) All in all, whilst never being bad, it was, as other reviewers have pointed out, average. Perfectly clean, perfect fit for purpose and I'd stay again, but maybe eat out.
