The staff were very helpful, free car parking, albeit you are best to have small car. Free wifi and breakfast was lovely choice. We were driving back to Heathrow early morning and the directions giving to us was really helpful and we made it to the airport in good time.
Being a smaller room, when sut for the day was a little musty ... But otherwise nothing to really add.
Fabulous food and service
Location, staff, breakfast, dinner
Mattress, small bed
The building itself has retained its old charm within its modernisation. The room was visually appealing as well as very clean and comfortable. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was excellent.
The Staff was fantastic and extremely helpful. Always with a smile, and very accommodating. Very restful sleeping and no noise. Located right in the center of town. Wonderful, safe walking around, plus the real walkers can go walking for hours and enjoy relaxing scenery.
The room with two single beds was a tad small with luggage which consisted of two carry ons. Top floor is a hike without an elevator, but can be managed. If two 70+ women can do it, really not a problem.
The building was really beatifuĺ, the rooms have been well renovated and were very comfortable. We loved all the little details and the guests' lounge which made it feel very homely. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and it is located right in the centre of burford but without the noise of traffic as the rooms are at the back. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The highlight was the delicious meals. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was as good as any we have experienced. Our room was surprisingly spacious and full of character. Burford itself is well worth a visit and this is a good place to stay.
It's a very small car park, but that is a minor gripe.
Nice quiet room at the back Top quality breakfast - fresh fruit salad, cereals, "real" eggs plus all the usual choices! Comfy bed Bottled water, biscuits, tea & coffee in the bedroom Working TV!
No air con.
Delicious food with good quality
Location, parking available, comfy bed with crisp sheets!
The window would not stay open.
Excellent cleanliness. Friendly staff.
Cramped bedroom with dangerous steps down to en-suite. Incompetent restaurant service. Difficult parking.
The breakfast selection ticked all the boxes No trouble having a slightly later check out than planned Located right in the heart of burford
some noise one night from pub in the road
Room too small and very old fashion.
Hotel with history, sloping ceilings, beams, squeaky floors. Hearty full English breakfast.
But . . . the bed I had in room 5 was truly awful. Soft as a slab of blancmange. Mr Manager: fix this and I'll give you five stars.
The food is excellent!
The WiFi does not work and there is a poor mobile signal on all networks in the area
The owner and the staff. Our room Trafalgar was very comfortable The breakfasts were good and a huge choice We will come again loved it
Trafalgar was on a bad sloap but we are assured that a light coloured rug will be put by the bed so you can see where you are going if you have to get up in the night. Room quiet dark but then the building is over 500yrs old
Service was perfect Hotel was beautiful The place to be on a gorgeous summers evening
Plastic flowers on dining tables
Very convenient location. Lovely breakfast. Pleasant staff.
Breakfast finished at 9.30. Not many parking spaces available.
Excellent dinner and a very friendly atmosphere. We hope to come again.
Outside chairs a bit uncomfortable!p
Great location, right in the middle of the highstreet of Burford. Lovely staff and a lot of character. Very dog friendly.
Friendly staff. Very nice location. Communal areas are appealing.
Stairs - not suitable for elderly, infirm or disabled as there are only two twin rooms, one of which is in the attic. This was disappointing and we had to pay for two nights bed and breakfast when we discovered that the room was not suitable for elderly people.
The location was ideal and the history of the hotel most interesting. The lady on the front desk couldn't have been more friendly and helpful as was the chambermaid! The food was very acceptable.
Entering our room was like walking into an oven. The sash window didn't hold the window up so until a handy-man appeared with a block of wood, we kept it open using the spare loo roll! We roasted during the night (it was a toss up between keeping the curtains open and enjoying circulating air, or closing them against sunlight from 4a.m.) The second night we exchanged a duvet for a sheet. The firing up of the hotel's boiler in the room beneath us did wake us at 4a.m. anyway. In retrospect we should have requested another room!!
