The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. I didn't arrive until 9 pm and they happily prepared a delicious meal.
modern comfortable facilities. Friendly staff.
Breakfast table a bit small but no real problem.
Good sized room, bathroom and bed. Rooms are in the annexe behind the bar. A modern menu is available from the restaurant and in the bar.
Broadband is turned off overnight. Be aware that the mobile signal is sporadic in area. A little slow in the mornings as only one member of staff on.
The Christmas Party night was a big success. I was there for an office party, and it was perfect for us, a great mix of food and entertainment. A few of us stayed overnight which really rounded off the event, meeting up again for breakfast in the morning. Great Staff, great food I would highly recomend it.
If I had to give a negative coment, it would be the rooms were a little hot and the bathroom could do with brighter lighting. Not enough to prevent me going back again though.
Excellent room on top floor of annexe. Tasty food.
Nothing to dislike.
Restaurant excellent for evening meals and (mostly) breakfasts. Good quality linen. Attractive-looking room. Evening staff friendly.
Unobtainable daytime staff - no way to summon from kitchen to bar (repeated shouting did not work and disturbed other customers), had to phone to make dinner reservation (no phone in room). Not once asked about room/stay & Saturday staff disinterested when these comments were made at checkout. Gave the impression that these faults were known and considered acceptable. Design/maintenance/safety/security issues - bathroom sink vanity (unnecessarily) obstructs toilet so impossible to use without twisting. Unsuitable for the not fully able. Very loose towel rail, shower head rail and curtain tiebacks. No safe. No deadlocks & ill-fitting, unlockable window on ground floor. Single glazed. Excessive noise from outside and other rooms into small hours. EVERY noise clearly audible from upstairs bathroom. Close to function room (avoid cabaret nights unless attending), kitchens extractor fan, smokers' courtyard & bottle bins. Vacuuming & slippery wet stone floors during breakfast.
We liked the décor of the room, the large, soft towels, bottled water and good quality toilet paper. Breakfasts were excellent but fresh fruit would have been appreciated.
The lights were too dim and muted, not strong enough to read by, particularly by the bed.
Cosy and comfortable, with everything I needed. Would definitely stay again.
Mobile Phone reception sometimes difficult locally
From my initial check in throughout my stay. Every aspect was first rate. The owner organised an early breakfast immediately, the food was of the highest quality and the staff were brilliant. Very comfortable, with modern facilities.
Great food and staff
A little noisy
Food although restaUrant way too hot and stifling spoilt the meal need air conditioning a lot of people eating had bright red faces so uncomfortable, my partner felt sicj with the lack of any air in there shame would not stay again on and far too many leafelt everywhere every table loads on bar promotiong xmas too in your face I kept laying them down when we sat at a table so ypou could see preety flowers which were all hidden by leaflets. Oh and two tellys showing football!! One in the bar more than enough for a couple stay nice bar and restaurant, the telly by the snug fireplace area, music channel or noithing, much more relaxing felt I was in a sports bar. Shame little touches make a place comforntable for both sexes.. no signs to show ODD AS TWO FOR GENTS PLEASE INSERT A HAND WITH POINHTING NFINGER TO LADIES UNDER THE ONE FOR GENTS SIMPLE REMEDY.
Small window facing roof whe n asked for a window to view of green area across the road from the bull. Misleading photos on web, would not have booked on a main road and no view if known. Heavy glass ledge in bathroom hanging off dangerous replace with plastic shelf. Door to bathroom shouild face in as kept catching on wardrobe door which you had to open as long mirror inside? Move long mirror to wall outside cuboard small things but for top price of £85 should be changed
Evening meal in Willow Room. Breakfast. Outside garden area. Room. Location.
The Television in adjoining room was a bit loud at midnight. We found the actual bar area a bit small as most of the larger area was laid for dining.
Beautifully decorated room Cleanliness Lovely pub Beautiful location Value for money including delicious English breakfast. Friendly staff
Wifi not brilliant Could hear people's movements above room
Only one thing I thought the bathroom was a bit tired.
Everything was great and we would book again if we were ever over that way again. Beautifully decorated bedroom with special finishing touches. Great staff and fantastic breakfast, never got to try out evening meal but I do not doubt it would be lovely. Thanks again Michelle
Poor reception on mobiles but this is not hotels fault just vodafone!!
Nice room, helpful staff and a lovely breakfast!
No signal on phone!
A few cobwebs in the room. Just needs a bit of attention to detail.
Comfortable bedding Lovely views Free parking Nice staff
Bad smell in the bathroom Shower door broken Breakfast choice limited for vegetarians
The pub faces the village green across the main road but the rooms are mostly at the back so they are not noisy. The rooms are modern, the bed was comfortable and the shower good. Our bar mean and breakfast were fine.
Then room was very small and there was nowhere to put anything. the cupboard had only hangers, no shelves and the tiny table and the bathroom shelf were covered with knick-knacks and ornaments. The shower had a curtain instead of a proper door.
We liked the ambience. The food was excellent especially breakfast. Clean and friendly. Good location.
We did,nt like not having a summer duvet on the bed as it was just too hot
An enjoyable visit to a welcoming hotel/pub. In particular the food was excellent
the food was nice, the room nice, and location good,
Felt as if we were an imposition, and that the things we needed help with were very much oh god those people again,
Nice location, great food, good accommodation, convenient for trips out
Noise from a fan or motor was intrusive at times during sleep
