I really enjoyed the hotel room it was gorgeous, four poster bed and spare bath. Very clean and comfortable. If you were staying out later than 12pm you had your own key to get back in the hotel which me n my husband thought was really great. The food was good and so was the beer :) The only slight problem was that the toilet seat in the hotel room was split and you had to be careful when sitting on it as it would pinch your skin, but it was reported. Apart from that everything else was really good. |

The staff and service on the 1st (friday) night of our stay were really good. Delicious bar menu well cooked. ( 1 ) Ensuite was a bit crummy and the WC wasnt't fixed down properley, lending an un-wanted air of adventure to proceedings. ( 2 ) On the 2nd night the restaurant service was mediocre, the bar menu wasn't avialable but the restaurant menu was more expensive but not as well cooked. ( 3 ) er, not 4 star in my book |

the hotel was quiet although it had been noisy while the bar was open - I was pleasantly surprised. The bedroom was a good size and the breakfast was excellent the shower over the bath was difficult to use - the bathroom would have benefitted from a separate shower cubicle |

Mostly friendly staff, epecially the excellent Manageress. The bar food is good value for money,is well cooked and served all day We were checked in by a totally charmless young man, who volunteered no information without being asked, even as to the location of our room. He was, however, the exception. |

The family room was very spacious, the beds and linen, fresh, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was sizeable, clean and freshly painted. All staff were approachable and willing and able to help, provide appropriate service- usually with a smile. The breakfast/dining room was attractively laid out and was a clean and calm place to start the day.The breakfast was very well done - eggs well cooked as per our requests, pomptly served and offers of extra toast were appreciated. Outstanding customer care - the staff discovered my husband's reading glasses and emailed to say they were posting them to us before we had even discovered their loss! Very well done! Minor niggles- the radiators were in poor decorative order. Perhaps they are soon to be replaced? This detracted from the overall effect of the decor. Some painting detail of woodwork in the bathroom, scrappy and again detracted from the otherwise smart, fresh appearance of the room. The carpets showed signs of previous usage, spills etc but were obviously well hoovered and as clean as possible. The dining menu seemed rather limited and did not tempt us to dine in on our two night stay. |

The restaurant was lovely. The food was good. The toilet seat was broken in the room. The hotel was noisy as their was a pub across the road and there was a lot of noise from the sleep. Somebody had their TV on full blast at 6.30 in the morning and the walls are paper thin. |

Staff were friendly and helpful. Very noisy at night from the pub across the road and from traffic passing outside. The bedroom window did not close properly and you could not shut out outside noise. Bath plug did not fit. |

the old building is lovely. nice breakfast, just one staff member doing recp and breakfast, but did an excellent job. the clock tower out side the room chimed every 15 mins and told the hour on the hour, a bit annoying, as the double glaze was not the best |
