The staff are very friendly and helpful but I booked it thinking it was a 4 star hotel, information very misleading, this hotel is not 4 star... it is very dated, interior needs cleaning, painting and serious upgrading. The night time noise was very disturbing. The food was excellent, breakfast was lovely,we didnt eat there at other times. carpets dirty, not even hoovered on stairs etc. bathroom and bedroom decor very dated, water stains on bedroom walls, serious pain peeling on interior of windows, very poor lighting, very little ventlation, very warm and uncomfortable at night, very creeky floors only a small opening in the window.dusty mirrors, tables. paint going up stairs totally in need of redoing. this hotel could be lovely , it lacks TLC.

Very convenient family friendly hotel in a lovely old building with big family rooms, nice staff and a pleasingly popular local bar and dining room. Great regular stop off for us en-route to Ireland Via Holyhead.

A friendly, old, small-town hotel on Anglesey conveniently located for Holyhead Ferry Port (16 miles, about 20 minutes). Adequate for a one- night stopover but would not be keen on a longer stay. Bar food adequate but unexceptional. We had two of several rooms located around the car park behind the hotel. This entails a dash through the rain to get to and from the main hotel.

This was our second stay this year at the Bull. Last time we stayed in one of the rooms in the courtyard, which was very pleasant and convenient. For anyone sensitive to noise, asking for a courtyard room would be advisable. We had a front room overlooking the street and the noise from a club opposite was loud and raucous.I Should add it was a Friday night when we stayed and perhaps it was more lively than average. This obviously is not the fault of management. Service in the restaurant was good and the food was hearty. This hotel gives very good value for what it charges aannd we like it as a stopover en route to the Irish Sea ferry. We would stay there if touring locally in Anglesey.

We had a warm reception, the landlord was very friendly and funny. Our room was really nice and big. Generally the hotel was in the middle of the little town, surrounded by some small take a-ways and other restaurants. We got very good welsh beer and the landlord was always friendly and we had some nice chats with him. He also advised us concerning our journey through Wales. In the morning he was also very sympathetic with the breakfast and made us a good price. All in all, very recommendable!

Staff were very friendly and hospitable. Food very average....something similar to the 70's transport cafe. Undercooked pork chop in the mixed grill and overcooked steak. All the meat was cooked for exactly the same time. Really disappointed. Bed (Room 20) was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in or not slept in I should say. The total bill was over £100.00 for the two of us and I am sure that you can get better value. The hotel in is a scruffy little town with unruly youths wandering around until the wee small hours. Every car in the town seems to have a big bore exhaust system so it is also very noisy. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Needs a good shake up.

It was very quaint and the staff was nice. It was a short stay and the town was basically closed due to a bank holiday while we were there so that may have tainted our visit. Could use a little updating.

“The expected facilities were available as found in all other Inn,s that we have stayed at making for more homely reception when arriving. The new development of it,s site and it's whole aspect makes the Inn somewhere to stay rather then just a place to put your head down for the night, it is in a very nice area providing great facilities with views close by that are second to none. We have enjoyed ourselves at many Inns, but give this one the thumbs up when rating it with others.” Denzil, Blackwood |
