Very spacious and clean room with lovely decor. Bed amazing and comfortable, bathroom clean, large and everything in good working order. Dining room very lovely and breakfast was really tasty, staff helpful and efficient.
Lights were a little dim and reading lamp did not work. Issue with payment due to booking.com bit apart from that a lovely stay and we'd definitely stay again!
Bed comfortable, staff friendly and helpful.
Access to parking is VERY difficult. Carpet in room needs to be renewed and skirting board require to be cleaned. Grouting in shower cubicle also needs to be re done.
Loved our stay at The Bull, we got an upgrade to a superior suite which was just lovely, couldn't find a fault. Good was great, location brill...big thumbs up!
The only negative was with a small minority of staff who's English wasn't great, made ordering breakfast a little difficult. We also saw the owner totally berate a member of staff right in front of us, very awkward & unprofessional. But would recommend & would come back again.
Clean, warm and comfortable. Onsite parking
Convenient. Comfortable room. good food drink and attentive staff
Staff were inexperienced but were trying. Old retainer was helpful.
Tired decor and dark dining room. Fried food tasted of old grease.
Great food, good ales. Ideal for walks and cycling trips. Will return !
Bedroom fine, comfortable bed, breakfast fine, friendly staff.
A bit old fashioned, big hotel in small town, a bit querky. Price a bit steep, not very good value.
Central to the town
Lack of a well lit area in the bedroom for a business traveller to work.
Comfortable, clean accommodation with friendly helpful staff. Appreciated having a restaurant on site for our evening meal which was well presented and good value for money.
There was ample parking at the back of the hotel, but the access was very narrow off the main street and a tight squeeze to turn into. Unfortunately this can not be avoided due to the age of the buildings, but rather unnerving on the first attempt.
Cumfy beds and good scrambled eggs.
Damaged carpets, missing lightbulbs, no toilet paper, terrible access to carpark, carpark full of rubbish, restraunt was uninviting.
Hotel in nice position easy walk to shops, restaurants. Friendly staff. Clean sheets and towels.
We were disappointed on arrival at the scuffy back entrance from car park. Décor in bedroom was very tired, the sash window would not stay open. However, it was ok for a budget one night stay.
The room, quiet with a double bed, and breakfast at £32 per night, with off steet parking, represented excellent value for money in a holiday area. Pleasant people.
I liked the peaceful atmosphere and charm of the old building. The location of the room was very good and the amenities were good, although I understand that the room is going to be upgraded in the near future. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. I would certainly recommend the hotel to friends.
My only dislike was the very tight entrance into the car-park, which came off a narrow, one-way street. Once you were in the car-park, there was plenty of room to turn around and to park.
Breakfast was ok. Loved the Dalesman Country Inn just down the road who went out of their way to find us a late table despite being completely packed out.
Our room (no 4) had broken windows, stained carpets, stained ceiling, tv set that didn't work properly. It was also very noisy from the bar below until around midnight. The hotel overall had a really quite oppressive atmosphere. By far the shabbiest hotel room I've ever seen. The promised upgrades (by the owner from previous reviews) never seem to get done... very poor value for money and definitely not worth the £90 we had been expected to pay.
Staff were friendly and the breakfast good.
Room was tired and needed updating.
Friendly staff, good pub, food choice limited but good. Room large and comfortable.
Bathroom very poor standard - clean but no shelves at all, shower had poor water flow and pressure. Also, had to ask for toilet roll, as failed to replenish during the day.
Breakfast and restaurant was good.
Being.offered a dirty ,damp and smelly room. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls and there was an odour of either foist or dogs. Beware of room number 16. Initially reception staff was unfriendly, unhelpful and intimidating. However when manageress arrived one hour later we were offered room 5 which was very small for a double but didn't smell and was a bit cleaner than the first one. I know there are better rooms at this hotel as have stayed in them previously, will never stay here again
The breakfast is delicious.
Evening meal time could do with extending.
Location was excellent. Lovely climb up Winder, the hill above Sedbergh. Beautiful drive along Wensleydale. Breakfasts and the dinner we had there were good quality.
They weren't expecting us despite having booked through Booking.com. (They were very accommodating and upgraded our room, so no complaints) Turn into the car park was a little daunting at first, but doable.
The staff were friendly & the food was good.it was a friendly hotel & the local people in the pub were friendly as well.
The thing I didn't like was the room it was a standard room which needed work doing to it & decorating.
A very friendly hotel, Good staff, A happy atmosphere, Car parking. The staff were always interested in what you were doing each day.
Tight entrance to car park
Good all round really
Fairly narrow entrance from street to large rear car park - but got through without scrapes - there's loads of parking space.
