Old biscuits and wrappers in the room drawers staff were surly and their glothes were dirty The Superior double room was charged at £89. not £ 87. so overcharged by £6. Was a £10. breakfast charge on one bill and not removed after it was pointed out. The Dalesman is the Hotel to be recommended in Sedburgh.
the countryside. and the coffee and bacon sandwiches when we arrived

really made welcome and felt looked after
17 April 2015
Very tired room with leaking toilet, grubby carpet that was unhoovered, bedside light with dodgy wiring etc.
Friendly staff, good location, good bar and beer. Clean bedclothes and linen

Being asked to give a tip on the credit card machine when checking out - I felt I had already paid them a full price for reasonable but unexceptional room and service.
God location in the middle of town, great for hillwalking on the Howgill Fells. The hotel itself was perfectly adequate, but nothing inspiring - reasonably comfortable but not great value for money.

Poor signal for my phone and could not connect to wifi
Lovely bar and having a pool table

One of the mattresses in the bunk bed was very poor and our daughter refused to sleep in it. We had to double up the two mattresses and both children slept together. We stayed for two nights had had a busy day so only mentioned about the mattress when checking out
Staff was friendly and breakfast was good

The food in the hotel was poor
28 February 2015
A criticism was that the shower curtains in the room we had were not long enough and so water went onto the floor.
It was a very relaxed experience. The evening meal was really good value for money. The person running the bar was also the waiter and there was not a hint of being flustered.

Slightly outdated bedroom
Very friendly atmosphere

Friendly staff. Good food and good selection of beers. Great value-for-money

The bedroom was very poor , even though the bed and linen was new the room itself left a lot to be desired , wholes in carpet where pipes and once been, the window was broken and dirty with build up of condensation, well worn furniture . In my opinion the room should not have been used for visitors and bore no resemblance to the ones on the web site. I did point this out to staff but was not offered another room and was only told rooms are in process of being refurbished .
Very big hotel and refurbished dining room and bar . Very good location and over new year entertainment was very good but as hotel was fairly quiet no real atmosphere. Good full English breKfast and those staff who served us were very accommodating.

Tv did not work and took a long time to fix, poor wifi and tight entrance to car park. Breakfast menu included Kippers and Haddock but were not available
Excellent bed in a good size room New management on their first day tried their best and i am sure in time Bull will get top marks

Bedroom: uneven floor, flickering table lamps, curtain didn't cover all the window and looked like an old towel. Furniture awful, cracked and stained and straight from a charity shop by the look of it. Hangers piled up on the floor of the wardrobe. Bathroom cramped and poorly designed and black mould on the shower tray. Nobody around at breakfast time, when I had an early start. And that is really, really annoying.
Location is fine, right in the centre of town. And free car parking.

Lights were a little dim and reading lamp did not work. Issue with payment due to booking.com bit apart from that a lovely stay and we'd definitely stay again!
Very spacious and clean room with lovely decor. Bed amazing and comfortable, bathroom clean, large and everything in good working order. Dining room very lovely and breakfast was really tasty, staff helpful and efficient.

Access to parking is VERY difficult. Carpet in room needs to be renewed and skirting board require to be cleaned. Grouting in shower cubicle also needs to be re done.
Bed comfortable, staff friendly and helpful.

The only negative was with a small minority of staff who's English wasn't great, made ordering breakfast a little difficult. We also saw the owner totally berate a member of staff right in front of us, very awkward & unprofessional. But would recommend & would come back again.
Loved our stay at The Bull, we got an upgrade to a superior suite which was just lovely, couldn't find a fault. Good was great, location brill...big thumbs up!
