Location because it was close to the north downs way.
The bathroom. The sink was totally inadequate as it was ridiculously small. Would have been ok in a cloakroom. Also the shower gave barely a dribble of water.
The Room & the food were great.
The loud humming noise from the kitchen whilst in the bedroom up until 9:30pm
Friendly staff, good breakfast and dinner.
on a busy road with terrible windows, it looks like you are in the middle of the road. Old, not very clean. Very uncomfortable.
good beer and food
mattress was a bit tired
Clean room and friendly staff.
The greeting. The greeter carried both our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs. Twin beds well apart, so we couldn't hear each other snoring. Next morning the chamber staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and generous. We had a room at the back overlooking the courtyard, very peaceful.
Bathroom sink very small indeed and bathroom rather cramped. But these are minor points, this is a very old building.
Staff were very friendly there was a good atmosphere and good food. The breakfast was very good too. The bathroom we had in room 5 was nice and big with a lovely bath that you could really relax in.
The bed was uncomfortable and the room noisy. Although this is the norm when you stay in a pub with a room above the bar. The food was good but a bit pricey.
Staff, food, breakfast: all lovely. Late night room change dealt with efficiently ...
Shame about the wasps! (Also dealt with efficiently!)
After a 35 mile walk from London, to find this gem of a pub - with great food and a wide range of beers and wines - was a delight. Great value for money, friendly & professional staff and a high standard of accommodation.
as a female business woman it can be quite daunting staying in hotels. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Food was excellent quality, rooms were clean, well furnished and very comfortable.
The hotel had a lovely 'Oldie Worldie' feel, and the food was excellent. The room was clean and tidy, the only issue I had was the door to the room would not lock. But all the positives out weighed any negatives.
The bathroom had a motion sensor for the light, this was a little annoying if you needed to go in the middle of the night.
Food & drink excellent, beautiful room and very friendly staff - will gladly return :-)
Location; staff all friendly and helpful; restaurant menus.
Lavatory flush broke down twice during our visit (the staff attended to it immediately); shower controls could not be reached without getting into the bath.
Very good food. Good value for money
Latch on my window was broken and as it was a windy night, the window kept flying open during the night. This kept me awake!
Our room was lovely. Parking was on site. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was very nice. Very clean.
Sound proofing in room was really poor. We were disturbed during the early hours by the people who where in the room above due to load noise. Vegetarian choice was quite poor.
Very friendly approachable and helpful staff. Room was good, with iron, ironing board, hairdryer provided and wi fi Food excellent
En suite facilities a bit cramped but manageable for one night stay Room under eaves so not a lot of head room at one side of the bed, but again manageable for overnight stay
very good breakfast
Room recently refurbished to a high standard Food absolutely superb! Great breakfast, good beers on tap in pub lots of character
Barry the bar man was very friendly and made us feel welcome.
The bathroom in room 11 was just big enough to get in to use the loo. Tiny shower cubicle. Waitress at breakfast very forgetful and not very friendly. Cost for a tiny room £114!
Staf are excelent. Friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Depends on the room. I've stayed in room 1 (my favourite), 3 (huge), 4 (lovely but a wee bit noisy), 7 (second favourite) and 8 (a bit hot).
Location is suited to access either London or the areas to the north or east of London. Good bar food. Staff are very friendly and willing to assist with advice
The restaurant tries to be a bit too far upmarket for a suburban pub. Fortunately the bar menu is quite good and the staff are flexible
Great staff, very friendly and really nice food and beer, what more could you want.
Good food and beer as usual! Great breakfast. Comfortable bed
The room was at the top of the building, with a very pronounced slope which made getting into and out of bed a bit difficult. The bathroom whilst perfectly usable was a little small
