The food was well presented and tasted good.
The staff were friendly but the waiter challenging one of my party on how he wanted his steak cooked was not acceptable nor was their inability to get our (table of 4) order correct whilst taking the order or serving it.
Location Wifi speed when working Selection of food Friendly staff tea, coffee and biscuits facility in room Breakfast selection and speed of service
bed a little too hard pillows too little or too much Wifi sometimes unresponsive Thought breakfast was 3 quid overpriced
good breakfast ideally situated quality rooms first class hotel totally enjoyed our stay
poor wi-fi no lift
location is great, helpful staff, everything is clean and neat
ventilation in the hotel could be better
The location Comfort Cleanliness Facilities Staff Beautiful hotel
The initial triple room we were given was a twin room with a camp bed by the window, not ideal for 1 disabled adult and two pensioners. We were eventually given an extra room.
When you enter the hotel, there is a sense of calm, a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of the streets surrounding it. Our room was at the front of the hotel, a better outlook than the ones at the rear (where we have stayed before). The breakfast is always good.
Location, room well equipped
Poor internet connection in the eoom
Room nice and clean. Reception and bar staff friendly. Meals good.
Car park a nightmare, especially when a wedding reception are on. We have stayed in this hotel for past five years whilst Burghley is on but this may well be are last. There were no spaces when we returned and we were told to park on a multi storey down the road, not what you want to hear after a long day at the show, with a vehicle laden with shopping. Loud music coming from wedding reception while we were trying to enjoy a nice meal.
Staff are friendly and will sort out if there is any problem quickly. The room is very nice and clean. Just one small complain it say on the booking with tea or coffee inside the room available but there is nothing. But over all its a nice stay.
We stayed here for our annual trip to Burghley Horse Trials. Lovely Hotel and location. Only thing that would be wonderful is Air con in the rooms, it was so hot. There are fans provided but not quite enough. Already booked for next year.
GREAT FOOD,STAFF PLUS LOCATION. EXCELLENT FOR AN HOURS WALK IN PETERBOROUGH. GREAT BASE FOR VISITING THE BURLEIGH HORSE TRIALS
FINDING CAR PARK
The restaurant had a good choice of menu & staff were helpful
Room was small
Probably the best place in the town: charming, clean and comfortable. It's our second stay and we'll definitely come back.
THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS OUTSTANDING
UNATTENTIVE BAR STAFF
Atmosphere and decor
The temperature in bedrooms
Location very central Bathroom -so nice to have an opening window ! hate integral bathrooms !!
Food was very good location great room lovely and bathroom gorgeous
Car parking too small and hard yo find
A very large bed
The breakfast was dreadful
The hotel was pleasant enough in a central location.
The parking - I was misdirected to the car park, then couldn't get in & was told there were no spaces despite being able to see some. The bed wasn't very comfortable
Facilities and staff did not explain details about facilities or stay
We arrived early so were happy to wait till 2pm for check in but then had to wait a further 20 mins for room to be ready. Think it was because they had a wedding party arriving but as we also had an appointment at 3pm it was rather annoying.
Nice room, very well furnished and comfortable. Lovely bathroom. Bar staff were super cool and really friendly and helpful. Lovely reception, restaurant, bar and lobby area. Very tasteful decor.
Finding the hotel car park is a nightmare! It has a different postcode from the postcode on the Booking.Com confirmation. I think the receptionists could be more friendly, I am afraid they came across as superficially friendly, and not very patient.
Comfortable big bed. The windows opened which we liked as the room was warm and we're not keen on AC. Good bathroom, plenty of hot water, fresh thick fluffy towels each day. Good room maid. Quiet location at back of hotel. Breakfast staff were helpful.
We didnt like having to wait to check in while the receptionist broke off numerous times to answer the phone. Not her fault but incredibly irritating as we were there in front of her but she had obviously been told to prioritise answering the phone. Poor breakfast although the staff were helpful. Again not their fault but for the price we expected a breakfast cooked to order rather than items sitting there in hot plates. We've been spoilt by hotels in India and Thailand with their amazing breakfasts so perhaps our expectations are too high. Strong unpleasant smell of chips in lobby. Threadbare carpet leading upstairs to our room.
Nice Staff,Pub food was good
Rooms were a bit dark
