Bull HotelWestgate, PE1 1RB Peterborough (Show map) Very good, Score from 241 reviews“Every single details is thought out well. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the executive wings has a rather stylish business corner with nice desk and lamp and network cable to plug your laptop straight into the LAN, rather than rely on WiFi.”

We booked the room at an half price deal, which seems a fair price ,the hotel has a nice old world feel about it, the staff were friendly, we met another couple here for a drink before going out but due to the bar prices they refused to pay your prices and we ended up at a local bar.the rooms are clean well equipped for the half price,we didnt use the facilities and rarely do when staying somewhere new so for me the room has very little more attraction than a premier inn ,which is just as clean and well presented but charge less for a night and their breakfasts are eat all you can manage for £7:50 where the Bulls weigh in at about £13:00 . An over priced bar,our room was noisey due to people emptying out from night clubs ,bars etc? The televisions appear to have had only 5 channels which seemed to have been tuned in randomly although we hadnt come all that way to watch television as it was supplied I would expect it to work properly.

Free carpark. Free WiFi. Proximity to shops. After 4 days, we needed to ask for the sheets to be changed. We had an Executive Room in this 4 Star hotel.

The staff were very pleasant & welcoming, the evening menu offered a good choice and we really enjoyed our meal. The room was clean, comfortable and was well equipped, it even had it's own ironing board & iron. The car park was a bit difficult to find but the staff were more than happy to provide us with directions.

Room was bright and airy. Double security entry was great for peace of mind that folk couldn't walk into the corridor off the street. Handy for all town centre shops and restaurants and the catherdral. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. I didn't have a full meal, but the bowl of soup I had in the hotel restaurant was lovely. I really enjoyed my stay. There was an event in a building opposite on Friday night which was noisy late into the night, but completely outwith the hotels control. While they could not resolve the problem, the hotel staff were very good and did try. The night porter went outside to go and investigate and tells me that it is not a usual occurance.

the location is excellent..right in the middle of town and across the road from the Westgate and Queensgate shopping malls and the Cathedral and Square. the hotel is beautifully appointed with lots of tapestries, antique-looking portraits and old polished wood downstairs whereas my room was more modern and quite European in its decor. the breakfast was extra but was buffet style. well cooked and plenty of it. the staff were all lovely and helpful apart from the duty manager who was on reception in the evening who was angry i had interrupted here from her admin in the back office by asking a question at reception.. I would say the room was quite a modest size and considering I was given a free upgrade to an executive room I can only imagine that the standard rooms are even smaller. But it was very well furnished and clean. Also, i went into the cafe in the hotel for coffee and cake but they only offer one cake per day, their 'Cake of the Day' and that was it. No other choice. It would have been better to have been offered a few choices of cake or pastry etc. this is small point however.

The smiles of the staff. (Not sure how I can spread that out ot fifteen words!) The struggle to get keys to open doors. Technique not easy to learn - but had a lot of help from staff and other guests.

The hotel is very central within the town centre. Access to the shopping centre, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. All transport links into Peterborough are excellent as the rail station and the bus depot are all within easy walking distances. If travelling by car the free car park enables you to explore the surrounding areas.

Staff efficient, friendly, well-presented,polite. Easy to book. Price reasonable. Location excellent. Can't remember if there was fairtrade coffee/tea/sugar in rooms. If not - would recommend. We had a meal - good but main course portions rather meagre.
