This charming village pub is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, overlooking Wensleydale. It has a stylish bar with a traditional wood-burning stove, and offers formal dining.

Nothing not to like
friendly staff,nice breakfast,comfortable bed
dirty cups, small room,no reception on tv,bathroom across landing
Helen gave a friendly welcome and offered help on anything we wanted. There are 4 pubs and other eating places within 1 minute walk. Hawes is a good place to walk round and excellent countryside.
Helen looked after us, gave us directions & cooked a fabulous full breakfast. Room was comfortable & clean. Perfect for a weekend away, would definitely go back.
Superb location with everything you need and excellent owner
Rooms nicely decorated. Good breakfast. Excellent local knowledge and advice. Great fire in the one reception room. Local character.
Cold at night. Very dated bathroom.
Helen gave a brilliant service, couldn't do enough for us.Fantastic breakfast with an excellent option for packed lunch at very good price. A proper vet friendly hotel which makes the stay excellent.
An older property so slightly squeaky floors.
nothing not to like
The open log fire reception set the scene for a welcome Christmas break. The snow capped hills in the distance from the room window were a lovely backdrop to winter wonderland of Christmas lights in the main street. Helen welcomed both my girlfriend and I and gave some good local information on sites to behold within walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was a traditional English cooked to a good standard. The room was warm with drinks facilities. Overall an enjoyable break, I would recommend the experience to anyone with an interest in the great out doors.
Breakfast was great for my other half who is a veggie. He enjoyed it as some places we have stayed at hasn't been too thoughtful. Overall enjoyed the stay there.
Due to there being no phone reception had problems contacting the owner to get into the premises. Had to get into the car and leave the village to get a signal although this wasn't the fault of the Bulls Head I have to acknowledge. This is more of a warning to other
Warmth of greeting from Helen. Warmth of Log fire in main room. Freedom to add a fuel to fire in main room. Excellent big breakfast which could be varied to suit appetite. Comfy bed and space available in "Swaledale"room. Central Hawes location Mobile phone reception poor
the hotel is small and more like a B and B, no bar or anything you would expect in a hotel and its quite small and compact. This was, however a lovely little place in the centre of Hawes, there was a reception room where you could relax in comfort in front of an open fire, plenty of magazines and papers to read, you were more than welcome to take your own drinks with you and have around the fire or in your room. The hotel rooms were lovely we have stayed before and had different rooms, beds are lovely and comfy. Good price too, would definitely recommend staying here. Breakfast is also lovely and served 8.30-9, various choices too.
Pets are allowed (however never really bothered to check this as don't have a pet myself, may have thought twice as I don't think it is appropriate to have pets in hotels) especially when they are allowed at the table when having breakfast I was not impressed with this at all, however do think owners should have a little more respect than allow dogs to sniff round you when trying to enjoy your breakfast, but each to their own, not a major issue.
A warm welcome, a comfortable bed, and excellent food, what more could you want.
It could have been a little warmer.
The lady who run the bulls head was lovely and her staff. You are made very welcome .. Oscar is lovely too. Good price open fire great take a couple of bottles of wine would definitely stay again
Everything was well worth the price charged no complaints from us
you have use of your own door straight to street. great for us with a dog. large room. large private bathroom. very friendly staff.excellent breakfast.
double bed could do with new mattress as you roll into middle
loved everything about it.
The room I had was vey large, breakfast amazing, location was where you want to be. Close to everything, big market on Tuesdays. Wish I could have stayed here another week. Helen the owner helped me quickly and correctly. I am getting ready to book again and I fly from California to Hawes so it is a long trip with a great place to stay. I was in a basement room, Downdale. Large room and bathroom beds so comfortable. No problems at all and I had 2 entrances, the hotel and a pirate secret door of my own.
Internet all over town a little slow, I suggested bring in her provider to get better spread throughout. Only the White Hart Inn had fast internet.
The room was querky but great fun. Staff brilliant. Good luck Gary & Juliana
Room very nice, owner very friendly and helpful, very good central position.
The hotel is not much to look at, but maybe a dreary day, but the staff are excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the best breakfast I have had in Yorkshire.
External look of hotel
Fit a family of four, comfortable beds, very friendly hosts
Basement room smelt slightly damp but still very cosy
Position of the hotel in town. Friendliness of staff.
Room was rather cramped with no window. It was very warm with no ability to vary the temperature.
The managers were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was quite cosy with a fire being lit for a group of us who were staying in on the Saturday night. Bed was very comfy and breakfasts good. All in all a very pleasant weekend.
My room was in the cellar which was surprisingly cosy, but had no window. This was OK as it was autumn and wet and dreary outside, but I would not want to have that room in the summer. Also, the wind was whistling under the door which I remedied by laying a towel along it. Maybe a draught stopper could be provided.
