Room was much larger then most we have stayed in, food very good and plenty of it, the lounge was very comfortable and was great for taking a coffee, tea, beer or glass of wine in to relax. Hosts were very accommodating to your needs.
Outside could do with a face lift.
it was quiet, owners helpful
bit musty, breakfast fried not grilled
Friendliness of owners. Facilities for families. Spaciousness of accommodation.Very accommodating to our late arrival.
Number of flies in room. About 10 when we arrived.
I was pleasantly surprised at Bulstone. My room was very clean and comfortable and when the food was served up it was absolutely delicious. A bit out of the way, and i was on foot, but worth it.
Room was excellent, plenty of room, bed was comfy, best night sleep for a long time!
TV was a bit small, but that's all!
Cordial, Friendly, comfortable, very good food
A bit off the beaten track
The friendly welcome The size of the suite - good size well-appointed and furnished double bedroom with TV, main bathroom and children's room all in one unit. Breakfast was cooked to order with a range of fresh fruit and cereals and all fresh ingredients in the full English breakfast, nothing tinned!
gardens and barby a joak
Everything else!! Originally booked the Hotel direct but then cancelled as same stay was £22.50 cheaper on Booking.com!! Had quite a rude reception from female host on the phone even though I had cancelled within the cancellation time allowed. On arrival we were so disappointed. Everywhere was overgrown and unkempt. We were asked to move our car as we had parked 'in the wrong place' even tough there were actually No signs indicating where to park!! The room and whole Hotel was musty and very dated. The Hot Tap in our Bathroom was stuck solid and the shower took a while to get HOT. Lots of dust too!! There were hundreds of dead flies in the conservatory roof blinds (very off putting). We had a frosty response by the Male Host at Breakfast & we felt it was because of the re booking we had made via Booking.com. The female host handed me a folded piece of paper and her words were 'here's your receipt' She did not make any effort to chat or ask if we had enjoyed our stay!! We shall not be returning, but such a pity as location is great but certainly needs some cash throwing at it and housekeeping!!. There were AA and Tourist Board awards on show but these must be from years previous. If they were current (which we doubt) these organisations do not set their standards very high !!
Beautiful night skys no light polution
finding key hole when returning at night needs some sort of light
Location - visitors kitchen - breakfast - all excellent
Everything had been thought of. Clean well aired rooms Good level of cleanliness Good welcome Relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of car spaces Personal touch
Nothing really, some might say the location is a little remote.
Comfortable room and bed, and an excellent dinner, including the largest piece of salmon, en croute, that I have ever been served, with delicious fresh vegetables. The desserts sounded great (traditional favourites), but after the rest of the meal, I had no room for more which bizarrely meant I got a reduction in the price! Judith's cooking is top notch; you must have a cooked breakfast and at least one dinner during your stay. Kevin is a fount of knowledge including where the lightning struck last night, and details of the shipping in the English Channel. He also logged on to Google maps for me to confirm a location I needed. I felt at home, and enjoyed my all too brief stay.
The bathroom and its facilities were a bit tired, and the hotel is a bit of a hike from the nearest pub (Fountain Head), let alone The better village pub, The Mason's Arms, the centre of village night life.
Basic, but clean. Good value for money. Great place for families with children
lovely rooms, comfortable beds, all spotlessly clean. Very good breakfast with fresh melon and strawberries, cereals, full freshly cooked bacon and eggs.
Although I had emailed to say our arrangements had changed and that we would be able to check in at a normal time, we were still expected at 2200hrs as I had previously requested during booking. There was no-one available to check us in at 1700hrs.
Good location with plenty of parking and excellent brrakfast
Minor quibble only is that there was no toilet roll holder
Second time we've stayed. Still a great family-friendly place. Hospitable owners and excellent value.
Staff were very friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was available when I wanted it, not just for a short period in the morning. Room was larger than expected and was good for a family of 4. Bed very comfy and room presented well.
Quiet, nice location Good food at good value
Location and food .
Musty damp smell as you walk in to hotel.
Breakfast was excellent. The Lady owner was very friendly and helpful if not overworked as she seems to do everything herself! You get what you pay for so don't expect 5 star. Its relatively basic but clean and comfortable enough.
Very dated hotel but has everything you need.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Parking facilities.
A little bit scruffy
Judith and Kevin were excellent hosts and the meals were first class and great value for money.
