We where put in a room above the function room with a wedding and disco which was very loud till late. Having our evening meal we must of been asked over 20 times from different staff if everything was ok.
Only 2 sockets in our room which the tv n kettle were already plugged into....
Nice big bar with friendly and helpful staff throughout. For the price, I was very pleasantly surprised. If back in the area I'd definitely re-book.
If I had to complain about something, the central heating could have been a little warmer though it was snowing outside most of the night. My room was a little dated and the floor boards a little creaky BUT for the cost, it was a million times better than a dodgy B&B in someone's house.
Bed. Was extremely comfortable, staff were helpful both behind the bar and on return to hotel with a take a way they got us plates and forks and brought them up to our room
Charging guests £9.50 for breakfast but as a member of the public they could get a breakfast from the bar menu at £7.99
The staff, room spotless and quick check in
The wifi was very slow and practically non existent which was a shame
Pets were aloud and there was a seperate bar area for people with pets. Staff were overall friendly.
Staff seemed demoralised and non managed. Reception wasnt ever manned so no welcoming atmosphere. Room and corridors decor is very tired and out dated. Floors exceptionally squeaky.
The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were also accomodating .Breakfast was enough to keep me going all day. Being a pub i thought the noise would have been loud , but we could not hear a thing
Parking spaces are too small
We stayed overnight for the bells. We had excellent room service. The staff were brilliant. It was a lovely stay.
The shower pressure wasn't very good and we found it difficult to work. But I think we had done something wrong.
Over all it was fair
We were told restaurant was open until 20:30 so would need to be there for 19:30. We arranged to meet friends at 18:30 for a meal only to be told the restaurant had already finished serving as it was Boxing Day. I can understand them closing early over Christmas but they need to give the correct information to the customers. I'm afraid this ruined our stay.
Clean room Friendly staff Large bar area Comfy bed
The pillows were not to my liking
Location is very good, bed was clean & comfy. Bar & food was good value.
Stairs & landing area needed a coat of paint, wifi was rubbish.
It's a reasonable, clean place
It needs refurbished, needs a lot more than just a coat of paint
Pleasant staff, when they arrived. Spacious room
loud creaky floorboards Hard to locate. Needs better directions as satnav takes you to an unnamed road - staff were aware of this at hotel! No lift (which was hard for elderly lady with bags to take to her room). No-one on reception when you arrive
Comfy and clean so great value for money. All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful which in my book counts for a lot!
The shower not too good.
The room was very clean and smart. Menu and choice of beers was very good indeed and staff friendly and courteous. I would stay here again for sure.
Clean & Tidy room. Basic room. Food very good. Staff friendly & Helpful.
Noisy fan in bathroom
We liked where it was situated, it was only a few hundred yards to the place where our evening function was taking place, and also as we arrived by bus, it was within walking distance, great no taxi fares. The breakfast was excellent, good choice of food, and very nice staff, also very nice helpful staff at Reception desk, thank you.
The warm and very friendly staff were excellent, evening meals were superb ( recommend the steak pie) good size room with an excellent comfortable bed fitted with pristine white sheets, great variety of breakfast, 2 of us had breakfast and the round of toast could feed a family of 4, unlimited top ups of tea coffee and fresh orange made it an excellent value for money breakfast
Shower wasn't the best, although it did work, our wi-fi closed down before midnight and the rooms and hallway in general could do with someTLC, coffee at breakfast could have been warmer
the night staff were really on the ball and helpful throughout. Day staff follow up excellent, Highly professional in their duties.
Restaurant was excellent value great food. Beds are superb very comfortable. Staff were very helpful A great value hotel.
Small problem with connecting to free wifi.
The bed was comfortable.
The strong wind made a strange noise in bedroom, as the windows didn't seem to be sealed properly. I couldn't get the shower to work (it was Extremely Hot) when later complained I was told that I should have pressed the thermostat button. I am an engineer and didn't see any.
too much early outside noise resulting in lack of sleep.
Entrance was nice, lounge bar/ restuarant area was clean and comfortable , this all changed when you went through door leading to rooms, hall staircase and bedrooms were in extremely poor condition, all were crying out to be updated, it appears the lounge and reception are giving have been updated but still to update residents area. Beware don't judge this hotel with its cover.
Residents area was poor
Decent menu options for food and drink at reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
