The house (hotel) rule is that noone will leave the table wanting more to eat. They CERTAINLY live up to their rule !!!!!! |

the food from the bar was awesome ... not in keeping with the accomodation which was as I expected for the price ... the owner is renovating the inn from a derelict state targetted at the lower end of the market (for the time being) - this is reflected in the price ... however the food would have put many a dedicated restaurant to shame !! cleanliness was ok in general however the cleaner might have had a bad day ... my shower was clean but had an old shampoo pouch in it and my colleagues had "long hair" in the shower base. |

Yes quite a bit. No shower in the morning (in fact no running water at all) apparently due to building works being done nearby. Room was noisy due to being next to main road. Hotel was very tired looking (yellowing, cracked plaster etc) and was not clean (particularly on the stairs). Breakfast was adequate but poor selection of continental items. |

Very friendly and great food. Could have used waste baskets in rooms and window in one room wouldn't shut all the way. A little on the rough side but up and coming. |

The description given of The Canards is totally incorrect from the picture shown and the impression given that the menu is extensive and would be found guilty under the Trades Description Act. The hallway was cluttered with pots of paint and assorted rubbish. Our room was obviously a single with a double bed put in, no headboard, no chairs to sit on making it impossible to watch the TV as it was at the side of the bed which was against the window. Room not cleaned or bed made up every day. Coffee etc. or towels not changed every day. |

The staff were very frendly and incredibly helfpul but the hotel is falling apart. It bares no resemblance to the website at all. It's in need a very serious make over. It's run down in every sense. |

Friendly staff. Tired, shabby appearance. Central heating turned off. Situated on very noisy road. From the moment we arrived we were constantly asked to pay, preferably in cash! |
