This 19th century manor house rests in the picturesque East Suffolk countryside, conveniently located for exploring the Broads and Heritage Coast.

The hotel offers a recently refurbished bar and AA award winning restaurant, where you can choose from char-grill dishes, pizza and pasta, traditional cuisine and a wide selection of desserts.

There are 2 function suites suitable for events of all sizes. The Manor Suite is ideal for large events like weddings, catering for up to 180 people for a meal and 200 standing. The Colville Room is available for smaller functions like business meetings and can seat 60 people to dine and accommodate 70 standing. The Carlton Manor Hotel holds a civil wedding licence.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

the way there was banging from fixing things at only 9 in the morning and a bolier like sound could be heard during the night

The hotel looked, and was,seedy and dirty. I cannot understand how it achieved a 3 star status and will be writing to the assessors. We had room 14 on the ground floor, the corridors were dingy and the bedsite cabinet had marks of 'mould and damp'. I wouldn't recommend staying here at all.

Breakfast and teatray goods were excellent and the quality of the bedroom and its furnishings were good.

Our booking via the internet was incorrect and we were told we were lucky to be in an appropriate room. Not a good first impression. The bathroom lacked basic toiletries for shower/bath and toilet was not fully clean. Spoon on teatray was dirty. Shaving light was not working although we reported it on each of our 4 days there.

Food and Service was excellent.

I was extremly un happy about the whole experience of the carlton manor.We left the hotel at midnight because the beds were beyond unacceptable and no alternative was offered.In the morning the hotel manager called to apologise and stated that the beds had been found to be so bad that the hotel staff had thrown them away.No compensation was offered for the inconvienience caused.Very un happy.

The breakfast in the hotel was superb. We also ate on our first evening which was also of a very high standard, on the second evening (a sunday evening, which had a different menu) the meal was fair.

The only downside was having the view of a mobile home site behind the hotel, which I felt could be overcome by a taller fence or tall trees!!

The friendliness of the all the staff. The food was amazing. Very pleasant grounds. When our friend needed to extend his checking out time because of a bad back the staff were extremely helpful. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting Lowestoft area.
