During their stay, guests can unwind and recuperate in the comfortable surroundings, whilst benefiting from the hotel’s range of superb facilities, which include indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, 2 tennis courts, 2 full-size snooker tables and a croquet lawn. The immaculate golfing facilities include the 18-hole championship golf course, which is free to residents, a 9-hole approach course, a driving range and putting greens.

The hotel is the ideal place for a restful, relaxing and restorative break and the wonderful spa facilities make it a great choice for a luxurious weekend of pampering or a little well-earned indulgence. The spa facilities include a steam room, sauna, experience shower, hydro-spa pool, beauty therapy rooms, a fitness suite and relaxing hot loungers.

Welcome to the Carlyon Bay Hotel, where beauty, tranquillity and relaxation combine to create the perfect hiding place in glorious Cornwall. Perched majestically atop the cliffs, overlooking St Austell Bay, the hotel cannot fail to impress even the most travelled guest. Winter or summer, the marvellous location affords dramatic views that are a photographer's dream, whatever the weather.

Our aim has always been to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Whether you are here to play the spectacular championship golf course, to unwind in the spa or just to spend some quality time with the children, the Carlyon Bay Hotel has something for everyone.

Should you wish to venture slightly further afield during your stay, why not step into another world at the Eden Project, located just 2 miles (3.2 km) from the hotel. With fast-track entry tickets available from reception, you can experience nature at its wondrous best and make the most of a head start on the crowds. You could also visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, which are a mere 10 minutes’ drive from the hotel, and transport yourself to a bygone age of high teas and the Famous Five.

Our first night was marred by the noise from a golfing group in the bar immediately below our room but on complaining to the hotel we were immediately moved to a much quieter room and we were able to enjoy our next three nights stay.	9.5

Especially your concierge who brought my luggage to my car to discover some one had clipped my front bumper. He duly got some "brasso" & proceeded to buff the grazed bumper to perfection. No amount of staff training or motivational payments could better that kindness to a stranger. Our room was not available until the alotted time of 3.00pm. Whilst this was the published time the other two hotels I stayed at in the previuos 2 days were ready much earlier......really spoilt us I suppose. The car park got filled up with guest's attending a golden anniversary banquet & consequently I had to park out on the road!	7.5
