The staff were lovely, the food was excellent, and the beds were incredibly comfortable.
The rooms are very spacious. The breakfast was excellent. Parking and WiFi was good. Selection of food for dinner was varied and well prepared. Thrower was friendly and welcoming and gave it individual charm.
Everything was lovely from the staff to the room, the place and what a wonderful bed. I don't sleep as well as I slept here even in my own bed which was excellent. Even the owner was really nice.
Quiet country location but only just outside Tonbridge. Rooms are modern, clean, quiet. The bathroom is impeccably clean and roomy with a large walk-in shower. Bar and restaurant comfortable and pleasantly busy even on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Excellent selection of real ales, lagers and wine. Food menu very good and well cooked. Staff attentive and pleasant. Large car park. Enjoyed our stay and wished we had stayed longer.
Wife would have liked a mirror over desk/dressing table and a full length mirror.
the bed was wonderfully comfortable
nowhere in the ensuite to put toiletries and the shower door didn't close properly
Room and bathroom very spacious and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent ratio Price to quality.
Attractive buildings and surrounds. The many lovely flowers enhanced the setting. Just the right size to be friendly rather than impersonal. Efficient and welcoming staff, Especially liked the bed which was exceptionally comfortable. Our room had all the facilties one could ask, bar one (see opposite).
As with many hotels/guest houses we stay in which have been expensively decorated (we suspect by men), the one thing lacking in our otherwise perfect room was a mirror conveniently near a power socket so that hair drying did not have to require either gymnastic contortions or an extension cable.
Quality of food and general comfort Friendliness of the management and staff.
Party of young people outside our bedroom window until after midnight. Traffic noise in the early morning. In future we would ask for a room at the rear of the premises
Nice change to go somewhere and they know what they're doing and do it well ! Would certainly stay again
When we first got there could smell cigarettes from smoking area below in room
room, food and drinks beer garden
being charged extra for breakfast being given a menu with prices for breakfast All seemed penny pinching
Rooms not very sturdy? ( well sound proofed), could hear every noise, someone doing heavens knows what at 4:30am, so didn't sleep well at all. Ordered pancakes for breakfast, took over 30 minutes to make and when they arrived they looked like an omellette and tastied like yorkshire pudding, absolutely disgusting - returned them back to the kitchen, didn't have time to organise anything else so went away hungry!!
We liked it all.,. good location for us 1/2 an hour, nice easy drive from Gatwick for an overnight stop on the way home to avoid rush hour on M25!! Lovely peaceful, semi-rural location with beautiful gardens and overlooking cornfields. Lovely, attentive staff and imaginative food. Relaxing pub atmosphere. Comfy bed, welcoming bottled water, tea/coffee in room and double walk in power shower. Perfect for us after our return trip from Tallinn ... a nice end to our holiday. Would definitely return if we found ourselves in that area again.
Charming building, pub, and gardens. We had an excellent dinner in the back garden. Room was modern and spacious with comfy beds and linens. Quiet for a good night's sleep.
The maid missed a few things - the trash can was full and hair in the shower upon arrival.
Fantastic room, slept very well. We were running a kids camp nearby, we just wanted somewhere quiet to rest. We are booking in again for next year.
Room 9 - best room ever in any hotel and/or B&B except no air con or even a fan!.
No meal if you miss the 9.00 pm deadline for last orders
All of it
Beautiful rooms friendly staff and a smashing breakfast would highly recommend :D
Quiet rooms, powerful showers, comfy beds, great fresh locally sourced in the restaurant. What's not to like?!
Nice rooms. nice beds. easy stay
Just the noisy drunk guests that arrived at 03.30 a.m. and continued to shout and talk loudly outside waking us all up.......
Nice room overlooking tree and garden.
No free top-up with coffee and toast and marmalade should be standard.
clean, comfortable room
some confusion over my booking - they phoned me up after I'd checked in & gone out to check whether I actually had a booking with them as someone else was supposed to be in the room I was occupying. Disconcerting but resolved.
Excellent food great staff very clean
Traffic was loud if your at front of building as right on the road . Rush hour constant .
