Great views. Great food. Great service.
Breakfast could have been started a little earlier.
It is in a good location with easy accrss to the town. It has a good garden at the rear.
Great room, fantastic terrace and garden. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were so friendly and happy to serve you. The beer is well kept and local. A fantastic, relaxing stay.
Everything. Great local beers. Good value and tasty food. Bedroom 6 recently refurbished _ large, tastefully furnished, relaxing colour scheme and a bathroom to enjoy!
Nothing stands out!!
Great atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. This is our 2nd time we have stayed and will be back soon. Excellent garden. We run a guest house in Aberystwyth called The Shelley Guest House and was very impressed by the attention to detail. Good selection of local produce. Evening meal was very good however we felt that the desserts were a little disappointing. Tuile basket was far too heavy and feel that the chocolate mousses lacked something.Only a minor issue as the we had a most enjoyable time.
Lovely location. Very good food. Friendly staff.
We checked in on the morning having spent a sleepless night on another hotel 12 miles away. The town is charming with lots to see ( we used the town trail borrowed from the hotel). We booked a twin for the kids and we paid for a deluxe room which was obviously newly done with an amazing bathroom which huge shower and bath. We booked dinner for the night and I'm glad I did as it was a beautiful night and the place so became very busy. The hotel has a beatiful garden with fish pond, and terraces with vines providing shade. Food was delicious, Henry the owner in full control of his staff keeping on top of the orders. Slept like a log then had a delicious breakfast. My husband and I are planning our next trip!
Nothing. Great atmosphere and dogs welcome too ( to stay)
Relatively large car park. Great room - nice decor, very clean, & a super shower with responsive controls. Very fine breakfast - excellent choices. Nice outdoor area for residents.
The midges in the outdoor area !
We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating-nothing was too much trouble. The meal we had in the restaurant was lovely and breakfasts were top notch. Would definitely stay here again!
Couldn't fault anything! Gorgeous location, food and atmosphere - already looking to come back!
Country feel to hotel easy going atmosphere lovely hotel grounds close to village and shops restaurant looked good but didn't eat at hotel as going to birthday celebration excellent, hot plentiful cooked breakfast
The relaxing atmosphere, the residents patio and the large bath
The general location and the town, the very friendly hotel staff (considering how manic it was) and the food which was superb, especially the full Shropshire breakfast! We stayed in room number 6 which was extremely clean and well appointed.
Not really a dislike but there was a beer and cider festival on the weekend we stayed (Fri/Sat), so everywhere was extremely busy. This included the hotel car park - which is also a pub - so we struggled to park after our day out. Having said that the range of beers and ciders was fantastic!
Our room, No 5, was fabulous. Try as we can, we can't find anything at all to complain about! The management were first class when there was a problem with the reservation which was our fault, not theirs. The food was fabulous. A cooked breakfast without a hint of grease. Both the boss and the staff do everything and both couldn't be more genuine, helpful or welcoming. We felt it was an honour to stay there.
We are really discerning, it's the first time we can't fault anything.
we loved the gardens and all the places to relax excellant breakfast all freshand local produce and good choice
Enjoyed everything about the break. It was nice being able to walk out into the town, also good for visiting other places. The grounds in the hotel were so relaxing and beautifully kept. Would definitely love to return.
The staff were friendly and efficient, everything was about making your stay enjoyable.
The staff were polite , Very large nice well maintained garden, Good clean room The character of the building with its movement over the years
Due to it being an old building the Breakfast rooms were spread out it would have been helpfull for the staff to have explained where everything was
Loved the experience of sitting out in the garden enjoying the spectacular views whilst have our meals or a pint
The contrast of the old in the public areas combined with a modern bedroom and ensuite.
My all too short stay!
I was only able to stay one night at the castle Hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that it provided. Comfortable room, helpful, professional yet friendly staff, excellent breakfast with a good choice, well cooked and quick service. I shall look forward to a longer visit next time.
Cannot fault it.
Quality relaxed unintrusive service. Good food and excellent local ales. Clean and comfortable bedroom.
I left too soon
