The castle inn is in a great location , we had a large room with a comfortable bed and a bathroom, we had an evening meal which was lovely and the service and atmosphere was great , breakfast was really nice and great value for money. We will definitely stay there again
Can't find fault with anything
Castle Inn is perfectly located at the edge of Bakewell with own car park, making access to the lovely village as well as surrounding areas very comfortable. Staff is very helpful and the whole atmosphere is really friendly and peaceful. We also liked the comfortable and clean room with good bed. And of course a proper meal with a pint or two:-) Well all in all we loved everything about our week away from London!!!
There's nothing not to like and we hope to be able to experience it all over again as soon as possible!!!
the staff were very friendly and helpful
I was in room 4 witch I think was over the kitchen I had early night as I had to be up early but the noise coming from the kitchen was very loud
Our room was very spacious and warm.
The room is dated and is long over due a refurbishment or even a coat of paint. I was a little surprised to be served frozen chips with our main meal. I would have thought they would have served home made chips.
ideally positioned for exploring Bakewell and the surrounding area; Chatsworth house.
The rooms were rather 'tired' and needed refurbishment.
Everything...the Castle is a lovely, homely place with a great atmosphere. We had lunch on our arrival which was great and a combination of Pate and a Cheeseboard for tea...All good!! The room was was warm, clean and comfortable.
Location excellent Breakfast excellent Excellent value for money Friendly host and staff
Friendly Staff, Great Food inc excellent vegetarian option, awesome breakfast. Fantastic Location in a Traditional Pub with flair popular with the locals
Needs attention to detail in the rooms, curtains need an iron, cracked cups, torn menus and towels
Good atmosphere. Good room and ensuite. Very nice staff. Good breakfast.
Window had gaps where cold air could get in. Toilet very close to shower.
Good staff, excellent breakfast
Bar closed at 11pm sunday night
What a lovely place to stay. Comfortable warm room, friendly staff, excellent food. Will definately recommend this hotel.
Atmosphere, bar and waiting Staff excellent ,food and beer very good. room very comfortable and bed linen and towels excellent.
Room could have been cleaner and was not serviced on the second day of stay.
The friendliness of the management & staff. They couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasurable. The location is fantastic and plenty to do in the town area. The food in the bar was exceptionable, good prices, special offers, drinks good prices. The scrambled egg for breakfast was amazing.
stayed here for the night whilst meeting up with some friends, fantastic place right in the heart of bakewell. Breakfast was excellent as was our evening meal. Will definately be returning :-)
Really good location right in Bakewell, good pub food and hearty breakfast (which cost extra). People were great.
We went in early winter and the pub was a bit draughty and cold.
Had a lovely long weekend at The Castle. So cosy sat in the bar in front of the real fire with good beer and wine to drink and watch the world go by out of the window. Smack in the middle of Bakewell on the bridge. Love the Pub, great Staff and the room was very comfortable. Cant wait to stay again. Plenty to do for a long weekend in Bakewell with a good range of shops and Pubs and restaurants and lovely walks along the river. This was our fourth visit to Bakewell but first stop at the Castle but we would definitely stay at The Castle again. Thank you. Mrs. N Martin
Friendly atmosphere, good breakfast and evening meal. Parking and location are excellent.
Net curtain with holes in.Cobwebs everywhere.Kettle would not work properly. No power in shower.
Lovely staff great location great breakfast would recommend it lovely spacious rooms was our second visit will definitely be back again
Nice atmosphere & good food
Booking was a bit messed up... part my fault / part theirs. To be fair they sorted it out well.
The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, really nice people. Breakfast was very good, best bacon ever. Bathroom was clean, bedding was nice and white.
Nets at window had many holes in them. Skirting boards/carpet areas thick with dust as were plug sockets. Strip light in bathroom over sink didn't work.
friendly staff ,large comfortable bed excellent breakfast
Stayed for just one night, great location, comfy bed. Had food in the pub as well which was delicious! Couldn't fault our stay at the Castle Inn one bit.
