The staff were wonderful and really helpful, the atmosphere and general welcome was amazing. The room was superb for what I paid and the picturesque setting.

Coming home!!! Seriously there is nothing that I can fault in the staff, the stay and the food all were absolutley fantastic.

Above and on the side of the pub were the accommodation, the pub had nice atmosphere and strangely enough very quite. Full English breakfast was added bonus, which I was not aware of, so the first night we went without one.

The only drawback was free wi fi which did not reach to all the rooms. But it had good strong signal inside the dining room and near reception.

    good location and breakfast.

On arrival at the hotel we waited quitea while to be served not the guys fault just not enough staff to deal with the bar and reception. the room smeltmusty, there was only one towel, they did rectify this before we could ask, the room was not entirely clean. the free WiFi did not reach the room we were in.

Good location in the centre of Usk.

The carpet had not been hoovered. Other than that the room and bathroom seemed clean. Staff were preoccupied, when we checked in and there was no-one available to check out, so had to leave the room key on the bar. Good job I paid for the room, when we checked in!

    Central to Usk

It appears that this place has recently been taken over. We spent 1 night at this place, we booked a Double deluxe room and ended up be given a room that was classed as deluxe with 2 single beds. We were in Room 8 it was so hot in the room it was un bearable, my partner suffers from asthma so she could hardly breathe it was stifling, we asked for another room, a fan to cool down and got absolutely no response from management, the bathroom was terrible, I am only 5 ft. and quite small and so found it quite bizarre that an adult struggled to fit in the shower cubicle, it was a total disaster, I contacted reception over 10 times trying to get some help and nobody answered, I guess the icing on the cake was when we were seated for breakfast, the waitress that was serving us was also in between cleaning the gentlemen’s toilets, she put her mop & bucket down walked into the kitchen and then severed us our breakfast, no rubber gloves oooooohhh it was an awful experience, I have tried to speak to management, have even left my name & number for them to contact me but am still awaiting a response. This place is of very poor quality and would certainly not recommend this to a family with small children either, not clean and full of germs

Room/bathroom very pleasant. Location beautiful. We had a very pleasant stay and would come back. Hope the suggestions are useful.

Breakfast poor. Poor cereal selection, juices not cold or covered, requested crispy bacon, but only just cooked. No hair dryer, poor selection of tea, and only three milks. The corridor outside room 3 needed some air through it, suggest propping door open diring the day if poss.

Very good value for money. Lovely room but only enough towels for 2 but there were three of us. Wifi did not reach this room. Breakfast was lovely and the evening meal. The location was great we really liked Usk and will definately come again.

The only thing that was more annoying than anything was that we couldn't get wifi from the family room that we were in, I suppose because it was some way from the main building.

This was a last minute booking, literally 1/2hour before we turned up. Staff were very friendly, well organised and suggested other places to eat as their kitchen was closed. Lovely, private, spacious new room with full facilities, excellent value for money.Lovely village location, close to Raglan Castle.

some bed springs coming through on double bed...but had a good night sleep so didn't affect me.

    Not much this times.

Poor room. We have stayed here before with no problems. This time we were given an attic room (no 8). Small skylight window with no view! Very small shower room/loo. Very, very low beam across room with an inadequate warning sign. An unacceptably hard mattress. There was no available free wi fi in the evening and no senior member of staff available to help! Very poor breakfast meal - mug of coffee and not enough butter or toast for 2 people. We would not recommend this place again.

the hotel was in a really quiet area. the breakfast was excellent not to much and to little the staff we,re very friendly even asked us how our stay was and if we enjoyed our walk and to say it was a busy pub we never heard a sound in our room.we will definitely stay again soon within the next month.

the only let down was the shower was either to hot or to cold there was no in between.
